Good location at Dupont circle area, quite close to downtown and the National Mall and Georgetown. Simple hotel, clean rooms and friendly straff. The breakfast is very american, bagels, cheese spread, cereals, coffe, tea and juice and server in the pub which is quite shabby. No parking at the hotel and one hade to drive around and search fot parking.

If you are in DC to sightsee and need a clean, safe place to sleep and shower, this is a great choice. Good location, 2 blocks from Dupont Circle Metro and lots of cafes/grocery store/drug store within a couple of blocks. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. My room was small, spotless, quiet, with working TV, wifi, and AC. Perfect for the 8 hours I needed it. Heat index was 115 when I was in DC so I appreciated the efficient AC. They offer $5 breakfast but you can walk across the street and get an awesome coffee and breakfast for about the same price. So what about hauling a suitcase up the stairs - for the $, it was worth it and I would definitely stay here again.

The only pro is free wi-fi. Dupont metro station entrance was closed near the hotel so I can't even add that as a pro...

$5/person "breakfast"...NO milk or juice left. Only ONE donut left. They wouldn't give me a refund. TV was only news channels. NOT HBO & ESPN like advertised. Just pay the extra $ and stay somewhere nice.

...the hotel itself is on a budget. The front desk staff is very friendly. The hotel is very conveniently located. I slept well. But all the details are not exactly as they might appear in the advertisements. They used to have an operating elevator but it hasn't worked for at least half a year, and they obviously are saving money by not having it repaired. On the televisions, at least five of the 11 or so channels have an identical message that reads something to the effect of, "This channel has been updated to digital technology... So no digital channels, cable or otherwise, no network news or entertainment channels, etc... Only what seem to be international news channels from Europe or Spanish stations, Al Jazeera and the like. Interesting but obviously another unadvertised cost-cutting measure. Perhaps I'm just not in the niche their marketing is after....

Location was excellent for traveling within D.C. There was never parking available behind hotel. Off site parking was approximately 2-3 blocks away. It was $20 per day, not $5.00. Additionally you had to remove car by 8:00 a.m or be towed. No elevator service, very steep stairs. Apparently elevator has been out of service for a very long period of time. Free breakfast was included in our reservation, however effective 2/1, breakfast was no longer included. For 5.00 you could purchase breakfast with offerings of bread, donuts, coffee and tea.
I was suspicious with the price but was not the person making the reservation for several people. If you are never planning on being in the room other than sleeping, getting breakfast out and want a cheap place to stay this is the place. If I had realized what I was getting into I would not have stayed here, if I were in Europe, I would have understood this level of hotel. The best thing I can say is that it was che.

Room Tip: Very noisy on front. Rooms over bar area are very, very loud

Read some good reviews of this place on hostelworld but pretty negative on trip advisor. Glad I stayed. The location is fantastic - about 10 minute walk to Dupont Circle metro, rooms were very well appointed (appeared to be recently renovated). Free Wifi, a great pub downstairs / semi underground. I was there on a Friday night but did not hear it from the room. I really coulndt find fault with the place and considering the cost of staying in the area I thought the price was very reasonable. There is no elevator but you only have to carry your bag up the stairs once - its not too difficult. Great staff - you wont regret staying here!

Room Tip: If your worried about noise - not all rooms are above the pub (which I didnt think was rowdy anyway...

I had read some not so good reviews in Tripadvisor and was not too happy about my prepaid reservation that I thought was a great deal for a 3 star Hotel. It was prepaid for a great rate in the Washington area so being a long time Road Warrior I figured I would check it out.
After you walk up the front stairs to a long corridor that is really the entrance to a Beer tavern and restaurant you ended up at a small desk where the only person I ever met was trying to check people in and answer other guests questions. No other employees in sight. Quite hectic.
WARNING no working elevator and this is a four floor hotel. Quite similar to a small European Hotel without the charm. Noone to help this old traveler take his bag up the four flights of stairs but I made it.
What a nice surprise when I opened the door to my room, small in size but very clean with a large flat screen TV, new air conditioner, WiFi tht worked and a sparkling brand new bathroom. OK for one person
but might be too tight for two. Great beer selection in the bar and very good hamburgers.
If they can get the elevator fixed this will a best buy for a very nice area of DC.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not face a brick wall. Either front or back of the building
