“Cute 8th Street Hot Dog Joint”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

If hot dogs are your thing, you'll really enjoy this nostalgic DC-3 airplane themed hot dog joint. The narrow, casual restaurant is decked out in TWA-esque retro decor, complete with a giant airplane propellor and airline route map on the wall.

The dogs are really good, and of course, being a DC hot dog store, they offer a half-smoke. The could get a little more creative with their toppings. For example, how 'bout some mayo, or exotic (for hot dogs) cheeses like feta or gruyere?

The french fries are out of this world and steal the show from the hot dogs, in my opinion. It would be great if they added some dipping cheese for them.

The creativity in the food does flourish in the sides, however. Want a fried Oreo or pickle? Look no further.

Brought to you by the same folks who created DC success stories Ted's Bulletin and Matchbox, Eat DC-3's likely to score a win too. I think you'll like it.

“Hot dog heaven”
Reviewed 16 September 2013

This place is all about hot dogs! The names are fun and the decor is cute. There was only one veggie/falafel hot dog available and it wasn't so good. My husband loved his bacon wrapped hot dog and for a pleasant lunch with drinks, for two it was around $15, not too bad for that neighborhood, especially if you think about that is how much you'd pay at the Chipotle next door. This is a poor choice if you don't like hot dogs or if you are a vegetarian. I won't be going back, but my husband will!

“all kinds of hot dogs”
Reviewed 22 July 2013

this place does not just have your typical hot dogs. they have multiple types and styles. you can pick any on the board or they will make one however you like it. the corn dogs are out of this world and the fries in the basket is a very good portion. free refills on drinks as well. great place to go before or even after a baseball game.

“Over priced subpar hot dogs...”
Reviewed 28 April 2013 via mobile

I've eaten at DC-3 several times and I keep hoping it will get better but it hasn't. The corn dog tasted like grease but at least it wasn't frozen in the middle this time. I also tried the DC Hot Half Smoke...took one bite and threw it away...truly awful! Same goes for the Special Sausage. The only redeeming hot dog was the NY Coney, which was mediocre. The one thing they got right was the Cotton Candy! I still cannot believe that I paid $26 for subpar hot dogs! I gave them an excellent rating for service because the manager, Jeremy, is totally awesome! Unfortunately, I won't be back anytime soon!

“Great Hotdos!!!”
Reviewed 23 January 2013

When you are in the area you've got to try this place. The hotdogs are really inventive and all the flavors work well together. I tried the sonoran-a bacon wrapped dog,the cincinnati coney, and the seoul bulgogi with kim chi .The place is quite cozy and the DC- 3 theme is held throughout. I highly recommend this DC-3!
