We were tourists in DC, but wanted a no frills local experience.
This sushi place is low key with lots of office workers doing lunch or getting takeout.
It is quite small with a few tables inside and outside on a terrace.

Staff were lovely.
We had two of the boxes at c$10 and they were a complete lunch.
The sushi was fresh and tasted great, tempura hot and filling with edami beans fufilling the healthy greenery role.

We both loved it and would recommend.

Small hole-in-the-wall place, but a great value with fresh sushi. From the outside, it doesn't like much of a place, but it certainly is a winner!

Small, cozy, corner restaurant... A little hard to find if not a local, but the sushi is worth getting a little lost for. Great prices for quality sushi. The dumplings were also quite nice. Lovely experience.

Tucked away in an out-of-the way corner, this sushi restaurant had all the trappings of a great experience. To be sure of the hours of operation, I cruised by the location on my early morning run. No signs posting the hours but nothing to suggest they wouldn't be rocking at lunch time. We showed up about 12:30 after walking a LONG way (after all, this is DC). A handwritten sign taped to the PADLOCKED door says they're closed for "internal repairs". More like they saw it was raining and, since it was Spring Break for Congress, business would be slow. If you're going to have a real business, stay open even on days that are less than promising. Otherwise, join the food trucks out on 14th St.

Momoyama was a nice surprise. The fish is super fresh. There are numerous choices in sets or just buying a la carte as sushi, sashimi, handrolls and other rolls. It is a very small place, easy to miss if trying to dine there at night. The wait staff was super friendly and courteous.
