Located in the basement of the beautiful Hay-Adams hotel, the bar is a particular favourite among the official types, with a view upwardly hopeful interns thrown in for good measure, that work in the surrounding area and you might come across the odd famous face. Between 5 and 8 it is extremely busy but it has a wonderful buzz nonetheless and though a table is hard to come by, the bar stools offer a good vantage point. The cocktails (uniformly priced at $16) are excellent (try the Old Fashioned and Dark 'n Stormy!), but they also have an expressing range of spirits of every kind. The service is as eccentric as you'd imagine in a place that has a feel of a gentlemen's club. Didn't try the food but the slider plates looked very inviting, indeed!
