“Very nice hotel”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

If you plan to spend a lot of time around DC monuments and museums this is a great option. Although you have to keep in mind that after 6pm the surrounding area is totally dead, everything is closed. Which is good thinking about a good night of sleep, given that while in your room, you can hear what's happening on the street, so, as there is no much, you can't hear much LOL. Next time I go to DC I think I will stay at the Georgetown area, that way I can go to the museums and monuments during the day and chill out at night near to my hotel. You can also do the other way round so, it depends on whatever suits you better. The hotel is pretty nice, I loved the room, wasn't big nor anything but it was clean, comfortable and the bathroom was pretty pretty, loved the wallpaper and the size and design of the shower.
They have an indoor pool. I did not use it because I did not have enough time, otherwise I would've been there. Love the fact of having the option to relax at night at the pool.
In regards to the price, it is expensive, but everything is in this area...

Room Tip: we had a corner room facing the street, and it was ok. I have a light sleep and did not had trouble...

The Hampton Inn Washington hotel is located on a walking distance to the White house (just around the corner). The interior is decorated in fresh colors. There are sofa’s/chairs and complimentary coffee during the day in the lobby. Breakfast is included in the hotel price and consists of fresh fruit, cereals, pastry, eggs, fresh baked waffles etc. We were somewhat shocked of all the plastic used for breakfast (plates, cutlery etc.). There is a good gym and a very small swimming pool (would exactly not call it a swimming pool). Reception staff is friendly and helpful. There is however a problem with the isolation in the rooms. The first night the room on the 3th floor was located so close to the motor of the air condition that we were unable to sleep and also the second night (in a different room on the 7th floor) the noise of the street was massive. No wonder earplugs are provided on all night tables.

Dear JAEMH,
Thank you for sharing your feedback on your recent stay with us. We’re sorry to hear about the noise disturbances twice in your stay, unfortunately that is disadvantage of our urban location. On other side we’re glad to hear that you found the rest of our accommodations and staff to be a positive influence on your experience. We hope you’ll consider staying with us on your next trip to DC.

Washington DC has a very tight hotel market on weekdays when Congress is in session. Hotels are expensive and hard to book. This visit I tried a new property, the Hampton Inn, since other hotels in the area were sold out. It's really close to 17th and Penn Ave NW, to give you an idea of the location. It's 1 block from the Farragut West Metro Station. The property was an old building but the hotel is really new and fresh which is unusual for this part of Washington DC. The detailing is really nice in the hallways and the rooms are spacious and updated. There is free breakfast and free WIFI which is definitely not standard at many competing properties. While this is a Hampton Inn, the price point (well over $300) per night might prompt the hotel to consider a few upscale options such as: cocktail hour, selling red wine and not just white wine in their store, and makeup mirrors in the nice bathrooms. The hotel also advertizes its clean duvet covers and sheets. (They did look very fresh and clean). Based on the convenient location and other factors, I would stay here again in the future.

Green Features: There is a garden area on rooftop that can be seen by a number of rooms.

Excellent hotel, great staff who are friendly and very helpful, super modern looking inside, rooms are very comfortable, great breakfast each morning, spacious and great location to all the DC tourist attractions, price is unbeatable compared to some of the other hotels in the area, can't fault this place, 5 star recommendation!

Room Tip: Choose a room at a high level to avoid the street noise.

Excellent hotel and ideally located for visiting all the tourist attractions in Washington. Room was very comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was varied and extremely tasty. Front of house staff were absolutely fabulous and could not have been more helpful. Loved the complementary hot cider and cookies after a long day's sightseeing. Would definitely recommend to everyone.

This was a combination business trip with vacation time added- we were there a total of 10 days. The staff are very friendly and helpful, willing to do anything to make our stay pleasant. It is a wonderful value and location, being just around the corner from the White House, with very easy Metro Access. The breakfast was decent, much better than cold fruit and muffins you get at most hotels. Overall, highly recommend.

I stayed for business, at the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center. Very conveniently located near multiple metro stops. The room was an acceptable size and very clean. The staff was very helpful in identifying restaraunts and the service was excellent. The lobby was comfortable and the staff gave us internet access the afternoon after we checked out while we waited for our flight. I left my keys in the room and the staff found them for me before I left. The free breakfast in the morning was helpful as well. Stayed on the 4th floor and there was some street noise.
