We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Hampton Inn near the White House in July. You can easily walk to the Metro station a block and a half away and get anywhere within the city. The mall is a short walk away and beautiful. Recommended: farmer's markets wherever offered and Black Salt restaurant in Georgetown.

I had an impromptu trip to DC that required last minute reservations. The hotel staff helped me and made my stay very comfortable. I have stayed here before and knew of their terrific and friendly service. Would highly recommend them and will definitely be back.

I write this with a bias - Hampton Inn is one of my favorite hotel chains. I find them to be uniformly excellent. The Hampton Inn near the White House was no exception. From the moment we walked in we were met by a staff of people who wanted nothing more than to make our stay as pleasant as possible - special shout out to Joe Gartrell (I hope I spelled that right) at the front desk who was energetic, polite and helpful! The rooms are clean, the free breakfasts are terrific and it's a short walk to the mall (near the Washington Monument) and the White House. Overall, this is a nice hotel for a fair price in the middle of a great city where hotels are usually much more expensive

Room Tip: This being an urban hotel, rooms overlooking Avenue H NW might be a bit noisy for some folk (althoug...

From the moment you arrive at the hotel it looks like something special. This is definitely the blueprint hotel that all other Hampton Inns should follow. It is boutique style and everything is just clean and fresh. The staff were friendly and breakfast always warm and of a good standard. We were allocated a corner room on floor 11 which was very nice and of a great size with 4 windows. We noticed ear plugs were also provided but we never needed them. The hotel is in the financial area which is a bit quiet at weekends but is a 5 minute walk to the White House, so everything is in walking distance. A fantastic hotel in a great location with super staff - Would stay here again, (and Washington was great too)

Top hilton group hotel in really good location for seeing the sights and top tourist attractions in DC. Staff very friendly and helpful, especially in reception and breakfast area.

Food at b fast is varied and always hot and well stocked. It can get busy at peak times but staff do all they can to clean up and refresh stocks. Free hot drinks and cookies at reception is nice touch and lobby area is clean and tidy.

We used the pool in the basement once and is was nice to cool off after and day sightseeing. Small but very unusual to get a pool at all.

The rooms are a really good size, we had a room with two queen beds and ample space for three of us. Clean and comfortable.

Some cafés and restaurants nearby for food as the hotel doesn't have a bar or food.

Totally recommended

This stay was amazing!!!!! The location is immediately convenient to all downtown area attractions/tourist destinations. The one annoyance with location is that it requires either a train change or a quarter mile walk from Metro if you are heading there from Union Station. That can be challenging with luggage. The staff was immensely friendly. I appreciated the security of having to use my room key to access any floor in the hotel. The breakfast staff said hello each morning, and the food was delicious! I know it's the same food that is served at all Hampton Inns, but this food was hot, plentiful, and tasted great. There is something to be said for the quality of preparation! The room was so clean. The housekeeper was thorough and left the room immaculate. It was like we were just checking in when we came back after housekeeping service. As you can expect with any city hotel, the walls are thin and you will not get a massive room. It does the trick, and the staff is aware of the thin walls to provide ear plugs. I love this foresight! The pool is also small. Do not stay here if you want a huge room with a huge pool to lounge by. It's big enough for the kids but it's not designed for adults. But who goes to DC to lounge by the pool anyways? I would definitely recommend you stay here on your next trip. Seriously. Stay here. As an aside, if you want a good meal, it's a short cab ride ($8 price) to get to a restaurant called The Commissary. Look it up. Eat there!
