Large dining room, standard choices, but you are in the Library of Congress building and you can eat in a clean environment, use clean restrooms, and give yourself a break. Choices of snacks and foods can be enjoyed by just about anyone's palate. This is a nice place to sit and rest and revive.

If you're visitng the Library of Congress (easily the most beautiful indoor space in all of DC), then make it a point to eat at the cafe. The food's perfectly adequate and at a good price, but the view is a stand-out: you can see all of downtown DC's monuments to your heart's content as you eat. Like living in an establishing shot for most any political or spy thriller you've ever seen.

Attended a special exhibit of memorabilia put on display by the staff of the library of congress in a private room. Had the opportunity to look at the literature at our leisure and photograph various items of interest. A truly memorable experience.

If you are looking for lunch and you’re in the Library of Congress area, look no further than this cafeteria. The food court has a wide selection of quality freshly prepared foods. We had roasted turkey, steamed green beans (cooked just right), stuffing and also a Japanese noodle soup with fresh vegetables and tofu. This and two bottles of water for about $16.00. For quality and price, it can’t be beat. It was the best of our lunches that we had on the National Mall. Simply walk in to the Madison Building of the Library of Congress, go through security, and ask at the information desk how to find it on one of the upper floors (I forget which floor it’s on).

Large 6th floor cafeteria room with windows looking over the city. Food was standard cafeteria food, but the relaxed atmosphere gave everyone a chance to chill out.
