Description: A new 160-seat American brasserie in the heart of Penn Quarter. This is the award-winning restaurateur's eighth restaurant in the nation's Capitol and it serves American fare with French and Asian influences. The name represents nopa's location just north of Pennsylvania Avenue and it welcomes guests for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. The restaurant offers lively dining in the main dining room, and also offers quieter dining options and several private dining rooms.

Just had a great lunch at Nopa. 3 different items including their burger and 2 wonderful salads All tasted great and looked great. I cant recommend the Brussels sprouts highly enough. Service was very attentive without bring annoying. Nice ambiance. I can't wait to go back and try their dinner entrees.

We tried NoPa with friends on a Saturday evening, were pleased and would recommend it to others. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. They were gracious when we sent the first wine back as not to our taste and recommended a different one. Appetizers and entrees were expertly executed. I had the skate which was livened by its sauce. The one food negative was the blackberry crumble with its dry and rather tasteless crust. But the accompanying corn ice cream was delicious, as was the filling. Given the moderate prices ($70 per person inclusive), we would return.

I went for lunch and was lucky enough to go during restaurant week. What a treat it was. Starting with the bread basket. I rarely eat bread and yet I asked them to refill as we had eaten our herb popovers.
the roasted chicken was so incredibly tender and delicious.
And then dessert....can I describe it as heavenly? A chocolate decadence that was spectacular. My friend said her panna cotta was great too.
service was wonderful and it is conveniently located in front of the Smithsonian's portrait gallery.

We tried NoPa for the first time since they opened in place of Zola's beside the Spy Museum. A good use of space, breaking large dining room into smaller areas between brick dividing walls. Food was awesome: the radish salad was surprisingly good and refreshing; the gazpacho lacked tartness and zing but was good. The fish entrees were terrific. Salmon dish was outstanding -- perfectly cooked. The sea bass was phenomenal, especially when paired with eggplant, though they could have omitted the wasabi pea purée, which lacked the heat and tasted more like it should be packaged by Gerber. You can skip the milk and cookies; The fruit and sherbet are a fine dessert!

We found NoPa when we got of the metro (a block away) and went to trip advisor and we found a jewel if a restaurant. Very creative menu with great options. Had the meatballs appetizer which was extremely flavorful and light (not a typical heavy meatball) and the Seabass was out of this world. Make sure to stop by this spot next to the spy museum!!!
