“Authentic Neopolitan Pizza”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

I've eaten here a half dozen times and each time, my pizza has been authentic and tasty. The service is darn good as well. The restaurant is fairly small so make a reservation before you go - it helps so you don't have to wait.

“Soggy base pizzas”
Reviewed 21 April 2014 via mobile

Was only in DC for a few days so visited Il Canale with high expectations - all four of us decided to have pizzas. They were a letdown - the ingredients were lumped in one place and not evenly spread out across the pizza. The thin bases were soggy and not cooked properly. The service and atmosphere is good but ultimately the food should be the main attraction.

“Wonderful dinner”
Reviewed 16 April 2014 via mobile

Made a reservation after reading about the pizza. We were welcomed at the door, the service was attentive on a busy night. The pizza and flat breads were really good. And the gelato was the perfect ending. If you are in the area, this is a great resturant for a family dinner.

“Excellent Lunch”
Reviewed 8 April 2014

Everything was good, starting from the greetings for the employee that sits you, to the waitresses recommendations and the people that brought us the food. Polite and nice people, good food and not expensive. The entree was good as well as the pizza and pasta. Surprised that no bread was served prior us ordering as other restaurants will do.
Overall it was a good choice!

“Terrible Service”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

We ate here because it was convenient to our hotel. The service was awful. We finally got bread, but no butter or olive oil to dip it in - and no plates to put our bread on. Literally plain bread. Our server ignored us for the first 10 minutes, and then it went downhill from there. The food was adequate, but the chicken in the chicken parm was tough.

I would never consider eating here again.
