We were glad to find a Groupon for the Chocolate Tour. We have visited DC multiple times so we were ready to try something different. Kate, our tour guide was wonderful, friendly, and knowledgable about Georetown and it's history. The tour was a nice combinaton of walking and eating. Some of the places were really tucked away and I was happy to discover them and go back another time. It was great to try Sprinkles cupcakes, delicious and no line! The pie, the macoons all excellent. All that goodness but the 6 of us agreed the tour was something they could have done without. It was very crowded (26 people in our tour) and many of the places were small. In a few places no one from the establishment even spoke to us, Kate just served us then we left, seemed kinda silly. Also, if a place is famous for ice cream i would have liked to try the ice cream! At least 2 or 3 places we seemed to be in the way and were told to move over for the "paying" customers. Something was missing! not worth the money, even with the Groupon!

I've lived in DC for 13 years, and I even attended Georgetown for grad school, and I'd never been to about half the places on the tour. It was a lot of fun and very yummy! I did it with a friend, and it was just the right balance of walking, talking (to each other), eating and listening (to the tour guides). We were really pleased with our experience! We used a Groupon, and there almost always is one, so that's the way to go! Oh, and bring a little container in case you don't want to eat all of the samples consecutively - it is a lot of sweet!

This tour was excellent for a nice day out in Georgetown. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area of Georgetown so it was more of a history and sampling chocolate tour. There also wasn't just chocolate but macouns, pie, etc but with some kind of chocolate involved. Every place was very good and some people talked to us. It was very nice except for the weather but even that didn't stop us from having a good time. The guide even pointed out some interesting spots like the Exorcist stairs, hehe.

We went on this tour yesterday after seeing it on a living social deal. Given the weather (windy, cold rain, followed by heavy snow) our tour guide did a nice job of trying to keep us warm and hurry between places, but not rushing us or skipping any of the interesting historical details of Georgetown. It was fun to go to places and try things we might not have before. However, I wish that some of the people at the shops talked more to us about the process of making what we were sampling so we could make more of a connection to the places. Some shop owners didn't even come to greet the tour. The size of the samples was generous and we all had enough chocolate by the time it was over!

Although it was a bit of a blustery March day, the tour was a good deal of fun. Our tour guide, Kelvin, regaled us with DC history, which was an unexpected perk. Georgetown was beautiful. The 7 stops covered a variety of dessert types and quality of chocolate, from boutique to large market. The samples were generous in portion size and the pace made for a pleasant afternoon. Overall, great experience.
