This was a beautiful memorial. It is too bad that more veterans of this war cannot see it as they are now getting quite old. It commemorated both the war in the Atlantic and the Pacific, with names of the places where battles were fought. There were significant quotes around the perimeter and beautiful fountains in the center. On a very hot summer day, people were cooling their feet off in the water. It is a lovely, peaceful place.

Beautiful spot on the National Mall. It was a fitting tribute to WWII vets. In fact, we had the pleasure of meeting a 89yo WWII vet who was visiting with his children. It was his first trip to D.C. and the smile on his face said it all. Utilize the Park Rangers as tour guides because they provide valuable and interesting information. Also, if you run into a veteran take the time to thank him like we did. He was funny and more than willing to share his experience in the war.

I love the fact that this memorial takes into account all the countries that stood together against genocide and injustice. Another monument on a suitably grand scale. Worth a visit.

What a superb memorial, powerful, evocative and spectacular. Really worth a visit. The stonework and fountains create an amazing memorial

An important monument to the greatest generation, but not as moving or thoughtful as the Vietnam or Korea memorials.
