“Good breakfast bad after dinner drinks”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

We stopped in after having dinner, at another restaurant, for an after dinner drink. The bartenders were not able to make any of the drinks we asked them to make. Some werequite simple and we even told them the ingredients. Not a place for drinks at all.
Brunch the next day produced some good omelets with a salad on the plates. The side of sausage was home made and excellent. We asked for salsa for the omelelts and were told there was one. the service was poor - coffee was not refilled, water glasses were empty, a differnt server brought our food and our waiter never checked to see if anything was needed. I rated it average but it is actually between poor and average.

“Great food, spoilt by terrible service”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

During our stay at the Hotel Monaco over Memorial Day Weekend, we ate at Poste twice. The food was very good, but the service was shockingly poor. Our server kept disappearing. The children's meals came out quickly, which was nice, but then it took another half an hour for the rest of the meals to come to the table. This meant, of course, that the children were finished and getting antsy to leave by the time the adults' meals arrived. Then after waiting and waiting for our check, we had to ask another server and then later a bus boy to bring us our check. We still ended up waiting longer. This is definitely not a good way to leave a good memory of a restaurant experience with customers.

“Friendly service, nice outdoor area”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

We came as a rather large group (10-15) around 10 or 11 AM on a Sunday without a reservation. Instead of telling us we'd have to sit separately, they asked us to wait about 15 minutes and they'd see what they could do for us. Once space freed up on the outdoor patio, they sat us there. The outdoor eating area is probably one of the nicest I've seen in the DC area. I had a western omelette and a donut, both of which we're excellent. The price was a little high, but nothing out of the ordinary for DC. Plus, the level of service matched the price.

“Great place for brunch”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Poste, in the Hotel Monaco, is a great choice for brunch/lunch in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the Verizon Center area.
There is always something special on their menu, the portions reasonable and the service excellent. Our only complaint was that we booked our Saturday brunch on Open Table where there were no reservations for 12:30p, the time we wanted. We went at noon instead and when we left, close to 1pm (we weren't rushed and there were only a few other people in the room where we were seated) we didn't see anyone waiting for a table and could have easily been seated right away.

“Yummy”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

My family and I were hanging out at the Spy Museum and came out right around dinner. My husband, who stays at the Monoco for business trips, suggested we eat at Poste where he had eaten several times. We really enjoyed it and they some unique dishes that we enjoyed. The fries were really great. I had the chicken and it was very good. The beet salad was really good but had too much dressing. No big deal. The kids' burger were a little overdone. The peanut butter chocolate tart was to die for. I am usually really picky about desserts.
