We chose the Embassy Suites mainly because of its great location. It is walking distance from most touristic locations of Washington.
The rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff is courteous. I find it however a bit annoying not to have free wi-fi in the room, in 2012! C'mon...
We had an issue on our first night, where the hotel had rented the restaurant downstairs for a WHUR (radio) awards party (or something like that). Despite the fact that we were on the 7th floor, the noise and music were so loud that we could not sleep peacefully before 3:00 AM! (I guess the noise reverberated on adjacent buildings and came back to our room through the windows). We complained to the staff the next morning. They apologized and waived our parking fees (non-negligible: 39$ + tax a day). That was appreciated.
Complimentary breakfast is adequate, although extremely busy (and noisy). Lots of families, kids running around, so may not be interesting to everyone.
All in all, a good experience (not "very good", but "good" is not available as a rating on tripadvisor).More
