Attended a show (Camp David) at Arena Stage yesterday for first time. This was a very educational, entertaining production. The theatre is very comfortable and intimate, more so than Broadway theaters in my opinion. I traveled from New Jersey to Washington D.C. Specifically to see this show at Arena Stage and very glad I did. Looking forward to returning for future shows.

It's March 29 - April 13, 2014 and you're visiting DC. Make plans to see "Loveland" at the Arena Stage. Ann Randolph is amazing, as in Gilda Radner amazing. You will laugh, and sing and quietly reflect as Ann takes you on a journey that touches on every aspect of life. Definitely a couples or girls night out must see. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

We recently went to Arena stage for the first time. First of all the venue is gorgeous. The theater itself was an excellent space to watch a show as well. Maurice Hines put on a wonderful show giving us a musical and dance history of his life. He has met and worked with the icons of his business and he gives a glimpse of who they were as people and what they taught him and his brother Gregory along the way. Ultimately, as he says, the performance is a love letter to his mother thanking her for her love, support, strength and hard work keeping the family together. He also introduces the audience to the future of tap dancing by showcasing two sets of very talented brothers. Go see this! It is only playing a few more weeks.

Had a disconcerting experience when we went to see The Velocity of Autumn. Everything seemed out of kilter, from the parking to the food (Catwalk Cafe). The Velocity of Autumn was wonderful; the venue was not. Go, but be forwarned that you might have an "interesting" when you get there.
