“Perfect Stay in DC”
Reviewed 16 August 2013

My husband and I spent two nights at the Embassy Circle, located in a beautiful tree-lined residential neighborhood near Dupont Circle. Laura and Raymond have done an outstanding job restoring this mansion, and our room (121) was large and immaculate with a comfy king-size bed. Laura and her staff make you feel so welcomed, and Laura enjoys talking to the guests and delighting them with DC stories and historical tales. Breakfast was served around a large dining room table, with guests coming and going. Wine and light snacks were served in the late afternoon. Besides being such a beautiful place to stay, the location is ideal, near a metro stop and fabulous restaurants.

This B&B is located in Embassy Row and was, in fact, a former embassy. Although the embassies have a few employees, this area resembles an upscale, quiet residential neighborhood. You may catch a bus or the subway which are located a few blocks from the B&B. If you are energetic, it is a nice walk to the downtown museums and the White House area.

The B&B is in a thoughtfully restored and nicely furnished building. There is some off-street parking in the basement of the building. A hot breakfast is served in the mornings, and each evening there is a wine and cheese get together. All aspects of the business are well thought out. The warm and inviting innkeepers and their staff are helpful, friendly, and make your stay most enjoyable. We highly recommend this option for your stay in DC.`

Laura and Raymond were very gracious, interesting and pleasant hosts. Laura is a fantastic story teller and Raymond has a life story inspiring to all who hear. We were in Room 121, and it was immaculate, not a smudge, stain or ding in sight. Really enjoyed a low-key, self-serve wine and light snacks at 5pm. Breakfast was very tasty, a step up from other B&B's we 've been to. Metro is within close walking distance, and Old Town Trolley stop is a few blocks away. It was bonus to be located in the middle of most of the embassies. If we go back to DC, we would stay there again.

Room Tip: We chose Room 121 and didn't hear anything or anyone else.

We had a fabulous 3 night stay at the Embassy Circle Guest House in DC. The building itself is amazing, an impeccably restored immaculate mansion with lovely hosts. Laura and Roy are friendly, knowledgeable, interesting and truly focused on ensuring their guests have a memorable experience in the nation's capital. The staff at the inn is great. Breakfast each day was a super jazzed up continental- delicious and healthy (not heavy or greasy), baked goods are available throughout the day and (one of the best bonuses!) evening happy hour- wine, beer and some light munchies. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed with high ceilings, large windows and great bedding. If you have the opportunity to DC, consider staying here- so much better than a traditional hotel stay!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 111- Red Kashan- it was beautiful, spacious. immaculatly clean and comfortbale but...

After travelling for around 20 hours what a joy it was to be welcomed at Laura and Raymond's establishment. It was just perfect, the location was ideal for us with bars and restaurants close by. Most of the main attractions were around 30 minutes away on foot and the metro was also close to the house. Angela and Kate welcomed us warmly and showed us the ropes and we met other guests at the evening get together over a glass of wine. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and constantly refreshed as required. Laura and Raymond always helped the guests to get to know each other remembering everyone's name, city and country of origin. The house was immaculately kept and the staff were fantastic.

Room Tip: Request rooms facing the street as there was some noise from external air conditioning fans at the r...

My wife and I stayed at the Embassy Circle Guest House for two nights and had a wonderful time. We've stayed at many inns and B&B's throughout the country and this is at the top of the list. The staff is top notch and Raymond and Laura are two of the best inn keepers we've ever met. Furnishings and decor throughout the house are beautiful and inviting. The evening social was a great start to our evening, with great wines and snacks. Wonderful breakfast with a wide variety of food using local ingredients. The location was also perfect; close restaurants, the metro, and many other attractions. We will definitely make a return trip

We stayed in April, perfect weather in Washington, and the Embassy Circle guest house is in a perfect location, near DuPont circle, great shopping & restaurants within walking distance, and an easy walk to the subway system ,and in the middle of all of the embassies. But our visit was made perfect buy our gracious hosts Laura & Raymond, and their staff, they were so helpful with everything, booking restaurants and suggestions of places to go & see, we especially loved the "Happy Hour" each evening sharing wine, & meeting & chatting with the other guests, To be continued each morning over breakfast around the generous dining table. The house is beautifully restored and decorated, some amazing original artworks. We shall definitely return to Washington, even if just to visit our friends at the Embassy Circle Guest house. We thoroughly recommend a say.. Annie & Vance
