We had not been in quite some time but the fusion cuisine (a bit Latin, a bit Oriental) was still excellent. Still love the fireplace and waterfalls on opposing walls. Interesting bar scene. Hope if it temporarily closes it reopens better ten ever soon.

First, this place underwent a MAJOR renovation and change from OYA to BOE. The concept is a lodge in the middle of DC. The decor is tacky and a little dark at best. I am not sure if the new concept of this restaurant will make it. The food prices are dramatically cheaper than it's former name and the menu completely different. It does still offer two little lounge areas to sit in. I give it an OK. Not sure I want to sit in a lodge in the middle of downtown. I thought the swank decor of OYA was far better reaching and much more cosmopolitan, exactly what you'd expect in that area. If you want to sit in a dark lodge in the middle of daylight, this place is for you.

Rushed meal, rushed service, they seem to overbook their tables. We had reservations but despite arriving early, the wait time was absurd and then once the food arrived it was quite clear we needed to hurry and eat since the table was booked out closely afterwards. Very loud atmosphere.

The restaurant has reopened as BOE. It's just down 9th St. from the convention center. The menu is gourmet / home cooking...a bit Southern but with an international twist. Entrees range from $15 to $24, with a few "for two" options at $40. The sharing plates are generous for a couple or a tasting for a party of four.

The wait staff is really attentive. The place was practically empty as this is only their second day in business. There's a huge convention in town and we just walked right in...a little worried that there must be something wrong, but then found out they just opened the day before.

It was a treat!

As entrees I tried the fried chicken with Kim Chee donuts. My companions had the brisket, the osso buco, and the sea bass. All were delicious and not too large portion sizes. Just right. We each enjoyed a dessert...the peach cake with crime freche ice cream was awesome!
