I was in Washington, DC for a seminar. The hotel was accessible to a lot of stores and activities. Easy access to the Metro. Hotel and lounge were very nice., Concierge very helpful in arranging a group for us. The rooms have wireless internet service which is helpful.

Rooms average around 250 a night. However, the money is worth it! This hotel has a great staff and awesome amenities. The location is also pristine.

The rooms were well sized and nicely appointed. After reading other reviews I was anticipating a see through shower space--not the case. The bathroom door is frosted glass and then the shower is past another marble half wall. I thought it was plenty private.

However, the two issues I did have at the hotel were with the temperature in the room and the blinds on the windows.

The windows had wood slat blinds that may as well have been open for how much light was streaming into the room. I am not an early riser and even after a late night there was really no way to sleep past 7:30am. There were no curtains or even rods or hooks to try to diffuse the light with a sheet or towel. If you're up early or stay in the winter when it's darker in the morning you may be fine but if you're on vacation and want to sleep in you may want to look elsewhere.

The temperature in my room fluctuated between 73 and 78 degrees--yes that's right, nearly 80 IN the hotel room. After calling the engineer because it wouldn't dip below 73 we decided to move to a new room. The new room (west facing) received afternoon sun through the closed blinds which heated the room to a whopping 78. Though we had the thermostat set for 67 it never dropped below 73. We called the engineer in again to try to remedy the problem. Hotel staff informed us the thermostats didn't individually control the rooms because it would fluctuate too much room to room so it was controlled centrally by the hotel. When we complained it was too hot they apologized but said if it was changed then other rooms would be too cold. Needless to say I saw staff delivering box fans to guest rooms.

If it were an inexpensive or discount/travel hotel you could probably write off the problems but for a nice hotel I expected much more.

My daughter and I stayed here after purchasing a deal on Snique Away. The room was small but lovely. Fine for one night. Nice sitting area by the window, great lighting, comfy beds, very nice toiletries. Heated bathroom floor!
We were there when it was very hot and I think the AC was struggling to keep up. Our room was comfortable, but not as cool as I would like. Also, the busy Dupont Circle location is convenient but a bit noisy at night. Lively bar scene downstairs.
The staff was fantastic!

Room Tip: I would try to get an upper floor due to noise levels.

I stayed here for 3 days for a conference and enjoyed the updated modern design of this hotel. The unique design of the bathroom which other reviewers described wasn't an issue as I roomed alone. I found it very appealing and spacious. The staff including busboys, banquet staff, front desk and cleaning staff were all friendly and helpful and at times seemed to anticipate our needs before they were articulated. Michael the Concierge was also knowledgable and eager to assist with our inquiries about local sites and restaurants. The location of the restaurant is within walking distance of many restaurants and bistros as well as shops and larger chain stores. It was easy to slip out during breaks and lunch to walk and shop. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This hotel is great - super location - seems like it was recently renovated and it was done really well. Nice bar, great staff.

Now the issue...

The bathrooms in the rooms offer no privacy at all. The bathrooms are open to the bedroom area, and the toilet is only separated from the sink area with a frosted 3/4 glass door. Now as a note we had three king rooms - I'm not sure if a double has a different bathroom setup, however if it's the same I don't think a family or two friends sharing a room would be comfortable with the lack of privacy.

If you’re in town on business this pace is fabulous – just keep the potty in mind!!

I stayed for 2 night in July 2011 in room 443. Got a corporate rate of 199 and they upgraded me to the next class of room. I am surprised at the other reviews about how small rooms are - my room was large especially for one person. Good desk set up for work. I agree a coffee maker would have been nice. Staff at the desk and the doors could not have been nicer (altho bar tenders in bar not very friendly nor attentive). Will certainly stay here again.
