We normally stay at another hotel close by, but decided to give the Dupont a try. We were pleasantly surprised, but it is not for everyone. I would stay here again if my favorite hotel is totally booked.
Pros: Great location on the circle, close to Metro station, free wi-fi, and we were able to walk practically everywhere. The wall-to-wall windows on the lobby level give a great view to all the action outside. The entire hotel is very modern and stylish, but the atmosphere is still warm and inviting with great service. There is coffee in the lobby and many places to just sit and lounge, and The Cafe was convenient for a nice weekend brunch. We were impressed by the large bathroom, which was spacious and modern, with a heated floors and an actual functioning window (in the shower area). The beds were also very nicely dressed with triple-sheeting and cozy duvet.
Con: Stayed in a double-bed room with 3 people and it was very tight. With 2 beds and a huge desk, the room size was better suited for a single king bed. As stated in other reviews, there is no door to the bathroom area--the vanity area is open to the room--and the only door is a frosted glass door separating the vanity area from the toilet and shower. People not comfortable with sharing their personal space may look elsewhere. Poeple looking for a bathtub will also be disappointed. There is only a glass partition separating the toilet and shower, meaning a lot of water everywhere. The plantation shutters on the windows look nice, but not very functional as the sun started shining through the slats--a huge negative for anyone wanting to sleep in.
