Great hotel right on the roud-about at Dupont Circle.
Everything you might need is within walking distance; coffee, dining, drinks, shops, and sports pubs. My boyfriend and I stayed here in April 2012 and we have few complaints. Loved the DC houseshoes they put in your room every day.

Room Tip: Higher level floors might be better if you are staying over a weekend and seek quite late nights. T...

Yearly baseball trip with 2 friends-area is easily accessible by metro usually. Nice room, convenient location-very walkable to Adams Morgan. Beds were comfortable, free coffee in the lobby. Nothing to really complain about. Free bottled water. Would absolutely stay there again.

Hate to let others in on a secret but the Dupont Circle Hotel is a treasure. Stayed at better known places in NY and Chicago and didn't have easy to use free Wi-Fi in room; free major papers daily; free bottled water; spacious room with giant bed; topnotch food in affordable restaurant; and ideally central location. Room in Chicago at conference rates cost 50% more; room in NY cost 200% more

Room Tip: No pool and no spa and who cares?

I stayed in DC this spring for a convention trip and booked at the Dupont Circle thru the internet. The only snag I had at the hotel was that when I arrived the king room that I had reserved and paid for was not made available. I had to stay my first night in a room with two double beds and then was moved; on my last night of my stay they moved me again without my knowledge. The hotel staff was very kind in trying to correct this but it was ridiculous. Dupont Circle is a great spot to stay with many local restaurants and the DC metro is right around the corner.

Room Tip: The handicapped accessible rooms have a huge bathroom but the one I was forced into had two double b...

We stayed at the recently rennovated Dupont Circle Hotel for a family wedding. First the good - the rooms were nicely decorated, the food at the hotel restaurant was great and the service was friendly. The food was expensive, but excellent.

We had adjoining rooms - one deluxe king and one standard room with 2 queens. The rooms were a nice size. I especially love that there are no hidden costs here - the internet is included as is the parking. It was a nice change to not get nailed with hidden costs on the way out. We upgraded from a standard king size room, which was a little small with 2 kids, but the upgrade was reasonable at $50 a night.

The location is great - right on Dupont Circle near some nice restaurants and just a couple of blocks from the metro. We also really enjoyed Kramerbooks and Cafe across the street with the kids - got some books and some yummy brunch - and there is a fun bead store around the corner, also great for the kids.

Negatives: There are shutters instead of curtains and the bathrooms are all frosted glass, so the room are really bright in the morning. This was not good with little kids - they were up at the crack of dawn and exhausted. I wish they would invest in some blackout shades and the glassed in bathroom are slick looking, but impracticle both in terms of lighting and privacy. Also, there was no cable/movie options, which also was not great with the kids. Thankfully, we had a DVD player and cables with us.

Also, the hotel software really needs to be upgraded - getting adjoining rooms was an ordeal as the staff had to look up rooms individually and see what the bookings were - it was not a simple system and we spent about 2 hours dealing with room issues. Luckily the staff was very patient, helpful and nice. Just be prepared to be patient if you have anything other than a standard room request (especially if you have your kids with you and it's late at night!).

Also, fair warning with kids that there is no pool at the hotel, but you can use a pool at the hotel a couple of blocks away, which is owned by the same company.

Finally, the rooms on the street have a much better view than the internal rooms, but they are also very noisy and bright. Request and internal room if you want quiet and a little break from the brightness. Not sure, however, if any of the upgraded rooms are internal. We were on the 3rd floor, so in terms of noise, maybe a higher floor is better.

Room Tip: Internal rooms are much quieter. The standard room with two queens also has more room than a standa...

My daughter and I found this hotel a great place to stop. The pluses:- location near Metro, great bookshops and restaurants. Plus willingness of staff to move us from one lovely room to another even lovelier room (about the size of our flat!) . Which leads us to the only down-side...... over enthusiastic jazz/brass band every night playing on the street outside. Nothing the hotel can control but they kindly moved us to a quieter spot. So might be worth having a room that opens onto the inner courtyard rather than onto the street....

Room Tip: Rooms facing the inner courtyard are quieter

We stayed at the Superior Room with 1 King size bed. We got a corner room on the 8th floor which had a nice view of the the city. The room is comfortable at night when it's cool outside. As other reviewers who have stayed in this hotel have stated, the room gets hot during the day. The thermostat for the cooling system says 65 degrees but the room temp could get to the upper 70s in the morning. And if you are not out of your room by noon you feel like you're in a sauna. I didn't bother to complain because we went out during the daytime and also was expecting that the management would have addressed this cooling problem especially during the summer time because this had been the most common complaint in reviews I've read prior. The staff, from valet to front desk to housekeeping were all nice and friendly. Wish there was a refrigerator in the room. Don't expect a door with privacy to the bathroom. The bathroom door is a partially frosted glass door. Perfect if you're a couple but not for a family.

Room Tip: Corner suites at the top floor have a wonderful view of the city. Check the A/C as soon as possible...
