For the exclusive traveler, you will have a delightful experience inside the walls of the Capella Washington DC. From the moment I crossed the threshold until I stuck my last leg into a cab back to the airport, the service level was remarkable! The entire staff's focus was on every guest at every minute, and you immediately felt that you were among family, friends and favorite folks- The Rye bar is adjacent to the secured check in area- a clever arrangement, where the general public may enter freely for a cocktail or dinner- but is completely restricted from entering the guests residential facility. Guestrooms were extraordinary

There is only one reason this hotel did not receive an Excellent from me , and that was the noise.
We had a room on the 5th floor and there appeared to be no sound deadening in the design ( No double glazing) . Therefore all the noise in the night from the Bars and in the morning from delivery trucks echoes through your room. Perhaps there are quieter rooms, it may be worth asking.
The room itself was beautiful, including 2 beds, a desk and a day bed along with plantation shutters to let in plenty of light. The staff at the front desk are helpful and friendly.
The location is great, you have restaurants and cafes all around, you are opposite the Metro station and there are no shortage of Taxis.
We walked from the Hotel to the White House, the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington Cemetery ( via the Smithsonian), however be aware that we are fit and walk everywhere so depending on your fitness you may need to use one of the transport options.
So, just ask them for a quiet room and you will have an amazing stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room unless you are a heavy sleeper.

What a fantastic experience we had in this hotel, thanks in great part to the Manager Coleen (Cole) Kelly. Cole took a personal interest in making sure I was happy with the location of my room (as I had requested a quiet room, having been advised of the terrific "buzz" of the neighbourhood.) I had toyed with booking the level 9 experience but hesitated too long and missed availability but the room on the 8th floor was fab. Shutters and blinds sorted the light and the high floor helped with the noise of the Circle life and activities. The icing on this particular cake however was a lovely generous surprise delivery of bubbly and chocolate coated strawberries (yum yum) for my birthday/our wedding anniversary (same date) which we were celebrating in DC. Thank you so very very much Cole and your team. You definitely exceed all expectations and we feel we have a friend in DC. The hotel is spotless and the wi-fi throughout is so useful. The Metro is handy and Starbucks is literally across the way although our in room fridge and coffee pot hit the spot in between the intensive sightseeing. Just brilliant memories of this beautiful City, enhanced greatly by our stay in the Doyle's Dupont Circle Hotel

Room Tip: High floor for quiet but you may sacrifice the view for the quieter location. We were lucky and got...

I took a punt online and bought a 'secret' hotel deal and ended up with this hotel. It is immaculate throughout and rooms are fantastic - one thing only was we initially we're put in a room on the 7th floor that overlooked the plants below - it was incredibly noisy at night even up so high. We asked if we could be nice to a room in Conneticut Ave, staff promptly organised this for us and we moved to a much quieter, equally great room. The cafe has a great breakfast menu however to be picky we found their service at times inconsistent. Many wait staff, sometimes on the ball with coffee orders straight up, other times ending up asking a number of staff for the same thing. Great food though! We'd definitely recommend staying here because location is fantastic and so close to the bus pick up/drop off for Washington.

Hi Caz, we are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. Due to our prime location, you are right, it can get noisy with all the bustling activity so we are glad our staff could meet your needs so quickly and that you enjoyed both rooms. We thank you for taking the time to leave us your nice review and we hope you will be able to stay with us again on future travels.

We travel to DC frequently for long weekends, and always struggle with the hotel prices in the city. We always bite the bullet and pay. But the hotels we find never seem to be exactly what we're looking for. We just returned from another long weekend, and I have to say, we found the hotel that we've been looking for...the Dupont Circle. The price isn't the cheapest, but it has everything we want in DC. It's located right on Dupont Circle, which gives you short walking access to tons of restaurants. There is a Metro stop within 5 minutes, which gives you direct access to everything that DC has to offer. No need to ever take a cab again. The hotel itself was fantastic. The beds were outrageous, the shower was wonderful, and even the bar was hopping all the time (the outdoor seating right on the circle was perfect to watch the world go by). If you're going to spend the money, just bypass everything else and go right to the Dupont Circle

I love this place! I spent my Labor Day weekend here and had a wonderful stay. The location was terrific: one block from a major metro stop. Its also a stop on the big red bus tour (a must for sightseeing).

My favorite part was the friendly front desk staff. They were always smiling, always helpful, and took the time to give me tips on what to see and what to avoid.

The bar is great for chilling with a cold drink after a long afternoon and just gazing at the foot traffic of Dupont Circle outside.

The rooms are very tastefully decorated and the bed was as good as any I have tried at the big chain hotels. My only complaint was that due to the layout of the hotel (in a V shape) all internal rooms overlook a central room area so the view is not so great. however, I didn't come to D.C. to sit in my room to stare out the window anyway.

For location and value this hotel was definitely worth then price: they're always running deals on the travel search engines, and it is literally a 15/20 minute metro ride from Reagan Nat`l Airport.

I will definitely stay here again on my next visit. Give it a look if you're planning a trip to D.C. soon!
