I chose this hotel for its location mainly. It was around the corner from the Dupont Circle Metro, and the White House is in walking distance. The hotel is very nice, well decorated and the beds are comfortable.

However a few things...we asked for a coffee machine for the room. This was brought up very quickly; however there were no instructions regarding use. We gave it a go, but gave up in favour of sightseeing. The next morning, it was removed by the cleaner and not replaced. We decided not to approach the front desk about this, as we weren't that convinced it was worth our time. The staff were not oozing with friendliness.

We did have a drink in the bar the first night; drinks aren't cheap as you would expect, and the bar was heaving. It was a Saturday night, so it was busy until late. Unfortunately our room was directly above the bar. I would have asked to move rooms for our 3 night stay, if I wasn't already using ear plugs to block out mum's snoring! It was the weekend after all, though was still noisy on Monday night.

We ate breakfast on our last morning in the restaurant; it was nice but over priced. The worst thing, besides my headache that morning was the service. The waitress just looked fed up to be there..no smile, and everything was a hassle. It wasn't the sort of service I expect when in the States.

Unfortunately I wouldnt choose to stay here again, if I return to Washington. Luckily the service received elsewhere in this great city made up for this.

Truly enjoyed our stay. We were close to the metro stop so we could get anywhere in the city easily. We arrived very early (10am) and to my surprise we were able to check in without a hassle. The woman working the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The gentleman at checkout- not so much.
We stayed on the 5th floor in the back of the building which was very quiet. Eye masks were provided incase you were bothered by the light that came through the blinds early morning.
We ate in the bar Sunday night. The service was fine and food and drinks were great. I plan on staying in this hotel again soon.

During our stay in Washington DC we stayed at this stylish hotel. Upon arrival the staff gave us a warm welcome and were very friendly during our stay.

The room was very clean, including the carpet and the bathroom. There is free wifi and water in the hotel and in the room. Unfortunately we had a early wake up on the first day because of water coming out of the ceiling. After informing the staff they took care of it very soon. It turned out that one of the airconditionings on the room top had some maintenance going on and leaked water. Also the shutters let quite a lot of light through so it also caused a early wake up. Other then that it's a very nice hotel and I would stay here again when visiting Washington DC.

Room Tip: Keep the shutters shut during the day to keep the heat out. The hotel is located a 20 minute walk f...

Thank you for being a guest of our hotel. When we had one of our engineers check the A/C of your room, it was working, but we definitely are sorry to hear it didn't meet your comfort level. Due to the room capacity of the busy 4th of July weekend, we wanted to try and accommodate you any way we could and that's why we offered the fan. Although not an ideal option, we wanted to be able to offer something to create a more pleasant stay for you with the options available to us.

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel. We always research our hotels before booking. We booked this hotel at the end of last year due to the great reviews on trip advisor.
However, I must admit I was disappointed with our hotel room.
The room is very, very small - have been in New York and other cities across the US and this room is tiny even compared to New York standards.
I contacted reception after viewing our room to see if a bigger room was available, the receptionist (a man - didn't catch his name) said he would check and phone me back. Literally 2seconds after I put the phone down he called back to say no other rooms were available. I got the impression he couldn't be bothered trying to help us. We were there for 5 nights, not just one nights stay.
The room was so small, there wasn't enough room for our two cases. We had to put one case on the leather chair by the window and the other in the bathroom! There is not much space between the end of bed and bathroom wall.
The bathroom was modern and clean but weirdly designed as others have commented on when reviewing this hotel.
The shutters need to be changed here- the light shines in very early and is so bright even when closed. An eye mask is provided but really you shouldn't have to wear one in a hotel!! Put up curtains for goodness sake.
The room was also very hot despite the AC - most likely due to the low ceilings and small area.
The main reception area is bright, modern and clean.
Hotel is in dupont circle, a lively area with shops etc close by.
George Town is approx 5 mins away by taxi- a must see!! Next time I will stay in Georgetown.
Won't be back here due to room size and staff's unwilling to help attitude.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us during your recent trip to D.C. We appreciate your feedback, but we are disappointed you were not pleased with the room size. Our staff definitely wants to make our guests feel comfortable, so please rest assured that if we had another option to offer you at the time of your stay we would have tried to accommodate you in any way we could. We hope you had a chance to dine with us and enjoyed your visit to the city overall. We invite you to explore our Level Nine accommodations upon your next scheduled visit for extra room and amenities to enjoy.

very bad start .. our reservation via booking.com was wrong in their system, so we weren't expected on that day (lucky i had a print-out of my booking) .. they found us an 8th floor room .. which we had to change hours later when we tried to sleep, as it was very noisy from the a/c units on the roof .. nathan the technie was very helpful ..

the night manager and i did not get on (that's mildly put) and i was about to walk out at 01.00 a.m. but decided to sleep off my tiredness for one night and address it with the manager the next day ..

luckily the day manager (a lady) had a complete different approach and resolved the issues in a professional, understanding and customer-friendly manner and our 4 day stay went well from there ..

back to the hotel itself :

it's about 25 min. taxi drive from DCA (ronald reagan airport) which cost ~USD 30 one-way ..

the location on dupont circle is good - the soccer match USA-germany was on a big screen right on the circle with a great ambiance .. there is a metro stop right on the circle .. we did walk places, but it was too hot, so we ended up taking taxis, but it is doable walking ..

breakfast was FANTASTIC .. the food was delicious .. what is a bit complicated is that u receive a USD 20 p.p. voucher, so u spend ur time working out costs (don't forget to add tax) - actual voucher value is USD 25 p.p. but USD 5 go towards the tip of the server .. we used room service once too and the food (snacks) was good too but as room service is a bit pricey for what u actually eat, but that's every hotel !

we had a double queen room and the room was a bit small .. one suitcase had to be placed in front of the wardrobe so u couldn't use it .. the bathroom is partially open with opaque glass, so as some have already commented, u might prefer to be intimate with ur room mate, altho u don't actually SEE anything ..

the room was clean and modern and wifi was complimentary (i only stay in hotels that offer it free) .. we also had complimentary bottles of water daily - there is a mini bar too .. a kettle for coffee/tea would have been a nice touch ..

the concierge and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful and the doorman gregg arranged a taxi for us to do a night tour of the monuments which i recommend - cheaper than a limo service and even less than a bus tour and without the other tourists + u can go at ur pace - we paid ~USD 55 for about 1.5 hrs stopping for pics etc. - well worth it !

i think the use of their business center costs - i saw a sign about "ask the concierge about costs* - we didn't use it - but in general i appreciate hotels that offer that service for free .. so u might want to check that if this is an important feature for u ..

we didn't try the gym or the bar ..

the small square windows have wooden shutters u have to move up/down .. 16 of them - i couldn't even reach them without climbing on the desk + it didn't black out the room, but they offer complimentary eye masks ..

it is noisy .. no other way to say it .. we were on 6th floor, facing the starbucks across the road (and the hotel's terrace below) and it was noisy .. too noisy - music, voices until late / early .. but it is what it is, if u want to be where the bars and action is - the noise will come too ..

i am giving it a 4 review because our issues were resolved and i liked the rest of the hotel + the breakfast was awesome, but if matters had not been resolved then i would be rating it less mainly becoz of the noise ..

i am told however that slowly but surely they are working on these issues based on guests' feed-back .. at least they are listening and trying (not like some hotels) ! ..

Room Tip: 8th floor is noisy due to major a/c units on the roof
