“Excellent, Conveniently Located DC Choice”

I stayed at this hotel for three nights to attend a conference and was very happy with my stay. The staff I encountered were consistently pleasant and helpful and addressed my questions and needs, in some instances going above and beyond what one would typically expect.

My room was very nice...large, well-appointed, functional and comfortable. The bed and bed linens were of a good quality and comfortable...the pillows were just average, but that is a comment I have about virtually every hotel. The bathroom was good-sized with a spacious tub/shower combination (which I enjoy), ample storage space and decent lighting (although the shower light was burned out and never replaced during my stay). Two small suggestions regarding the room amenities... First, the soap dish near the bathroom sink was a mess...completely dinged up, paint/stain missing from large sections, glue/adhesive long gone so that the soap dish came apart in pieces if picked up. I realize this sounds like a strange complaint but it was in such bad shape that I wouldn't even expect to find it in a roadside Motel 8. Secondly, the coffeemaker and supplies were of quite low-quality, especially for a hotel that is otherwise very nice. I have stayed in far lesser hotels that offer a decent coffeemaker with better quality supplies, including small creamers that don't need refrigeration (as opposed to that awful powdered "creamer" stuff).

The conference rooms and related amenities, snack and beverage service, etc. were very good and the food quality and service for the conference luncheons were excellent (not always an easy thing to pull off).

I had dinner from room service one evening and it was good, although rather expensive (not so much for the food as for the service charges) even for room service.

The hotel is conveniently located. I walked to and from Georgetown one day...about 2.5 miles each way which isn't a big deal for me. I also easily walked to the World War II Memorial one evening and to the Smithsonian museums. Even walking in the evenings as a woman alone, I never felt particularly anxious or uncomfortable (although, naturally, you always have to take the obvious precautions). There are a lot of really great, unique, independent restaurants within a few blocks of the hotel so there are lots of wonderful dining options nearby.

I would happily return to this hotel in the future, for business or pleasure.

Room Tip: I think rooms facing the outside (vs. the atrium) get more natural light; however, they also get a g...

Had a very pleasant stay. Very modern rooms, comfortable bed and extra large TV in room. However, the TV would not accept an HDMI input from my laptop or iPad--there was a desk console and I tired unplugging the hotel feed, but that didn't even drop the broadcast signal. Must be one of those systems where the HDMI is locked out. Very nice bar and lobby areas. Conference rooms were comfortable and had tasty refreshments. No reservations staying here again, but really need to get access to the HDMI port on the TV. It is also located to some nice restaurants within walking distance. Reasonable walk to the capital buildings.

Room Tip: I like the higher floor rooms, there are many elevators so not much waiting.

Thank you for expressing your great appreciation regarding our World Class Service provided to you during your business trip to Washington, DC. It is always nice to hear positive and appreciative feedback from our loyal customer. We are grateful to know that those little touches made by our staff at the front desk, house keeper, and concierge made your stay more enjoyable and memorable. Despite that the TV would not accept an HDMI input from a laptop or iPad, your kind comments regarding our modern rooms, comfortable bed, the extra large TV, comfortable conference rooms and the tasty refreshments were forwarded to the Executive management at the hotel and we are looking forward to welcoming you again in the near future in DC.

Great location! The hotel is located close to the National Mall (only a 10 minute walk). The room was nice. The bathroom was spacious. The hotel had a variety of dining locations on property. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

A classic grand hyatt hotel. Pretty much what you might expect. Strong internet, HDTV with HDMI jacks. Not great pressure in the showers. The biggest weakness is the fitness center. Technically speaking unlike the Grand Hyatt in New York and Dallas airport there is no beautiful top floor fitness center which has 24 hour access. Instead the hotel seems to have worked out a deal with a fitness center just outside the complex though you do not technically go outside. The open at 7AM on Saturday and 8AM on Sunday. Needless to say the place is packed at that time. The equipment is old and the televisions are very limited in their offerings. The hotel is excellent but if the fitness center means a lot to you this may not be the place.

Room Tip: The 12th floor club level is the place to be though it costs more.

Great hotel for its location, the comfort of the rooms and the kind people working there.
There is a gym that is nice with a sauna and a swimming pool, but this last one is a bit small.
The metro is below the hotel and you do not even need to get in the street.
the only thing that ciuld be improved is the hotel bar that I do not feel nice enough for the standing of the hotel

This Hyatt is well located adjacent to the metro and close to the convention center. The lobby contains a Starbucks but almost nowhere else to sit or meet someone. Check-in is efficient. My room was small and a very long walk from the elevator. The decor was totally nondescript and forgettable. The desk was very small and they charge for internet access.

Room service seemed overpriced but the sandwich I ordered was OK. I wanted to eat at one of the restaurants one evening, but Cure was packed with suits at a convention, lined 3 deep at the bar, and Grand Slam, their sports bar was empty and dreary. But there are good restaurant options in the neighborhood.

In summary, a very ordinary hotel. Not terrible, just nothing to really recommend it.

Room Tip: Atrium view from a high floor is nice.

No complaints. Check in was easy. Friendly staff. Beautiful hotel. The restaurant was excellent. Stayed on the 12th floor where a nice assortment of food was presented. The gym was small but still had a great workout. Only concern is the noise of the city. Despite being on the 12th floor, the traffic was loud. I travel with earplugs so it wasn't much of a problem. Best aspect of the hotel is the direct access to the Metro station. I was able to stay dry even though it rained through most of my stay. The Metro access really made the hotel for me.
