In town for business nearby and were very pleased with our stay. Jennifer took great care and checked us in quickly and we were able to work and sleep in room with little noise and a wonderful bed. Lots of water in shower and a sofa in room were big treats. Valet parking is $49 and Internet is $15 in room. Convenient to stores nearby and good restaurants were a big plus.

For the price you pay to stay at a city property, the least the Marriott could offer is a cup of coffee. I have gotten more amenities at a roadside Courtyard property than the Metro Marriott. While there is a Starbucks on property, it closes by 6 p.m. After that, no options for a quick snack, coffee, ice cream etc. except the sit-down, slow-service, stale-food restaurant, where I paid $10.00 for a slice of chocalate cake that makes Drakes look good. Not even any convience stores within walking distance.
I'm a long-time Marriott Rewards member and am loosing my patience with over-paying for Marriott properties. If you want more bang for your Marriott-buck, stay at their off-the-path Courtyard locations.

Thank you for your feedback it's truly appreciated. I will take this feedback to our chef in regards to your dining experience in the hotel. In regards to our location we receive great comments about it, many of which are stated on trip advisor. Within walking distance you will find a vast amount of options from restaurants, quick grabs, etc. I will discuss your comments with our concierge team to see how we can better communicate these options to our guest. I do apologize for the inconvenience

Enjoyed our 3 day stay the Marriott Metro Center. Checkin was quick and easy. " Jen" was able to give us an upgrade. Our room was on the 12th floor. Spacious corner king room. Very clean and updated furniture. Concierge was helpful with directions. The location at Metro Center was great. Could hop on the Metro and get anywhere. Starbucks right off the lobby was convenient. There was a plate with food on it outside our room for 2 days. We mentioned it to the desk clerk and it was finally removed about 4 hrs later. Would definitely return to this hotel.

I was nervous as I read the review the week before I arrived and it spoke of poor customer relationships. We were greeted well, the lobby feels a bit cramped because it is a) narrow and b) internet is free only in the lobby so persons congregate. However there are two decent sitting areas to both sides of the registration desk, one with a view of the street you can sit there and use the internet. The concierge service was good, however there was waiting in line sometimes. However on one occasion while I was waiting, someone, clearly put in place to deal with client matters came up to me and asked if he could help and he did. The room is good, of course higher floors are a must. The position of the elevators on the floor I was on does not seem like it would impact anyone. The metro stop is right there you can't beat that. There are a few key stores you can walk to when work is done, the Macy's, Banana Republic and Ann Taylor to name a few. The place is a 10 minute walking distance, okay maybe 15 minutes into Chinatown, there are great other restaurants in the area.

Green Features: They place the information in your room with a gentle reminder that each guest can do their part.

As a Marriott Rewards member, I not surprisingly attempt to stay at their outlets when I travel for business or pleasure. This March, my cardiology convention was held in D.C., so after first trying unsuccessfully to make a reservation at the Renaissance, closest to the convention center, I opted to stay at the Marriott Metro Center. Not any sort of great sacrifice!

After our $16.75 (tip not included) fifteen minute taxi ride from Reagan National, we were cheerfully received at the front door , checked in, and up to our room. There were no lines, the front desk staff was efficient then as throughout the stay.

It is a standard Marriott room, comfortable king size bed, nice desk area for computer work, a couch. The room temperature was easily and effectively controlled. Our profile calls for synthetic pillows due to my wife’s feather allergy, we had to make a call to the operator (the button to summon guest assistance was met by a rapid busy signal) to have that delivered. And they proceeded to deliver another feather pillow. There was a single bar of soap for the sink, none for the shower. That was fixed after the first night. There was a single sink, but tremendous amount of surface space on both sides for all accessories. Great shower temperature, very adequate water flow. Housekeepers organized our toiletries as they often do at Marriotts, i.e. placing them on a folded hand towel after the first morning’s room cleaning. Internet in the room comes in two flavors, regular (12.95/night) and extremely high speed (16.95/night, ideal for streaming), fortunately came gratis courtesy of our Gold status. The high speed was great, we were able to real time stream from our home Slingbox, helpful to watch channels not offered in the room, i.e. HGTV, and other shows we had recorded on theDirecTV DVR. Obviously, would have been a plus had the internet simply been free for all, as it was in the lobby, but the paradox of fee internet at higher end hotels seems absurdly standard. We also had access to the second floor lounge area with complementary breakfast, with certificates for breakfast in the main restaurant provided for Saturday and Sunday, when the lounge is closed. My newspaper of choice, the Wall Street Journal, was not delivered on Saturday, but they had several free copies available at the front desk. The paper was delivered on Monday and Tuesday.

The hotel is a ten or fifteen minute walk from the convention center, there is a Macy’s across the street to the left, the Metro entrance is just outside the door to the left. Once the weather cleared, was an easy walk to the White House, museums on the Mall. Many great restaurants are within the immediate walking area. And a Starbucks in the lobby…how much better can it get? It’s a big city, there are a few scattered sad characters located at various spots outside the hotel, but they do not hassle you.

We do wish the Marriott chain would break their exclusive contract with Pepsi, there is not a Coke to be found anywhere on the premises...had to wander about three blocks south on 12th Street to fill that need.

All in all, a great stay, and would enthusiastically recommend using this as a base for a Washington DC visit with no significant negatives to report.

The hotel room was not spacious but it was enough comfortable to stay. I did not have any problem during my stay. The rates are high. There are many sites to see in walking distance. You can walk to smithsonian museums from this hotel. It was hard to find nice and affordable restaurant around the hotel but I felt safe to stay at this hotel.

The room was very comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The location at metro center is very convenient. Very easy to take the metro to the airport and be there quickly for a flight.
