“Great rooms, location and lounge!”
Reviewed 17 November 2011

See my review under Embassy Suites.....wound up here in a two room Junior suite. Beautiful lobby, tastefully decorated rooms that were modern, yet classic, well appointed and had great finishes.
The 1331 lounge was great for unwinding with each booth having its own large LCD tv. 1331 had good food and attentive wait staff.
All in all great location, good lounge, excellent rooms....the whole family was happy!

We stayed here with our two children. The quarters were a little cramped, but the location was quite good. And the elevator was a little weird. I think for two people it would be great.

This is not up to the standards of other JW properties. The location is fantastic, but the staff lacks customer service. Make sure you get a room with a view of Pennsylvania avenue.

Worst part about the room is the size of the bathroom. Small is an understatement!

Room Tip: Make sure you have a view of the Washington Monument

I'd read some reviews that said it needed to be renovated and stuff. idk, I didn't get that impression. The bed was very comfortable. No fridge for your use or bathroom scales, but you could have some delivered. The hair dryer wasn't bad, as it usually is in hotels. I liked the swimming pool, clean and all (could have been a bit warmer maybe?). Loved the food. Close to major sights, the museums, and stores such as H&M and Macy's.

The staff was really friendly. I had a big problem with my bank, but the staff there didn't throw me out; in fact they were very understanding. Also, I had TONS of stuff delivered tot he hotel, and Gina, the shipping manager, was fantastic. Didn't yell at me once for putting her through all that trouble lol. In fact I'm still putting her through trouble because she has to return some items that were wrongly sent to me.

My only issue is that there was a lot of noise (voices) coming from the bar, but that's expected, of course. And the hotel room was very quiet. I guess the air conditioning may need to be renovated so as to make even less noise, but, all in all, great hotel. And a lot of it has to do with the people working there.

we took a trip here after my son's competition in Maryland. originally I was considering doing the residence inn. but they only had a 1 bd suite and wanted to charge us extra for a rollaway. so we decided to book here instead cause this hotel was more willing to accomidate a family of 5. I was a little worried we'd be crowded in a hotel room. but I had nothing to worry about as were were surprised with an upgrade to the washington suite. so pleanty of room. amazing views. amazing bathroom.big pool. walking distance to the white house and museums. I really didn't want to leave.

The main entrance is a madhouse of taxis, valets and whistling doormen, but once inside, this hotel is a fine choice for DC tourists. Pricing seems to vary widely. We paid $209 with breakfast and were not disappointed. The buffet is fine and there is an egg/omelet station, so you can pretty much equal the menu food. The location, as is mentioned in most reviews, is fantastic for tourists. The lobby is vast, the rooms smallish but attractive. There are several levels to the public area and the lobby minus one has a quiet entrance onto Pennsylvania Ave. There are both a mini-fridge and a selection of drinks/snacks connected to an electronic monitoring device; apparently if you disturb them you will be billed. Very cheesy.

We would stay again for the same price.
