I had a meeting in DC and was supposed to stay at another Marriott but book this one because of its location. We paid extra to have the view of Pennsylvania Avenue but it was really worth it. It was so nice to wake up to sunrise over the Washington Monument. Lots of lovely cafes to stop by and an easy walk around the White House. We walked to the Newseum one afternoon viewing all on Pennsylvania Avenue up to the Capitol. I'd definitely stay again.

The lobby, bar, and service was excellent. Our room although clean, was overlooking a courtyard with an office building on one side. We visited in May and made the reservation in October so we thought we would at least have some kind of a view. The bathroom was TINY. And if you move anything from the fridge (which we did to store drinks, etc.) you will be charged at the desk. I believe that is unreasonable. They did adjust the bill but it was still unfair to advertise a fridge but not be able to access it. Otherwise, I couldn't think of a better place to stay

Great location for sightseeing (a block from Smithsonian Natural and American History museums, a couple blocks from National Archives), but not a great location to walk somewhere to eat. There are maybe only 4 or 5 places within a couple block radius. The concierge has a list of "walkable" restaurants. They obviously have a deal with these places because we went to one and got a free dessert because we were staying at the JW Marriott.

The hotel itself is huge, but well appointed. The pool (indoor) is nice with an outdoor patio right next to it. But there are no services on the patio (i.e. food and/or drink, even water).

My room was on the 11th floor (room 1111) and the window in the room was a joke. They put curtains up over the wall to make it look like there was a window. The actual window was recessed into the wall so the only way you could see anything was if you walked up to the window and looked 90 degrees to your left. Otherwise, the room was fine. Nothing to write home about but nothing wrong either.

My parents were also at this hotel and for the same price had a great view.

It was nice that the hotel had computers with a printer to get free boarding passes.

I didn't eat at the hotel so I can't review that. The bar is nice though. One weird note was that in the mini bar, bottles of water were more expensive than soda. But there is a liquor store directly next to the hotel so if you want a beer or wine or something, just go there instead of the hotel.

The hotel I use the most is any that has Marriott in the name. This hotel has all the normal Marriott perks (clean, good service, nice spa, very good mattress) plus one more - location. Minutes from White House, Capitol Building, Washington Monument, and many more.

the buffet breakfast for 2 adults is not included in your room, even if the booking agent list it as an amenity. Worse, the wait staff apparently will modify your check, then the front desk charges your room. 4 days and $350 dollars later, We checked some charges on our bill. That breakfast for 2 adults listed included in our reservation was only charge. Included at $30/person/day. This hotel does not offer free breakfast! No matter what the booking says.

Room Tip: Rooms farther away from the elevator have better views.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your most recent stay. Your comments are truly one of the best tools that we have for better serving our future guests.

For our hotel, we do not offer free breakfast. We apologize for the inconvenience during your stay with the billing. On the weekends, out hotel does offer a breakfast package for two adults and two kids to be included in your room rate when booking a reservation on Marriott.com.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you would like to discuss this issue any further. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us. I look forward to hearing from you.

Very fancy hotel, clean rooms, we had a room with 2 Double beds, the room was very spacious. Not many places nearby for a late dinner if you don't want to go to the hotels' restaurant. The restaurant seemed nice and reasonably priced, but travelling with 2 picky kids we chose to walk the nearest McD. There is also the bar and entrance to Starbucks in the hotel as well as a small gift shop with chocolate and beverages available. Hieno hotelli, vähän syrjässä tavallaan, ei ollut iltaysin jälkeen aukiolevia ruokaravintoloita ihan lähellä. Suosittelen kyllä kaikille, tosi siisti ja isot huoneet.

Stayed at this hotel during a work trip on June 2014. It's newly opened and has over 1000 rooms. Nice room and bed. The room had a fridge (no mini bar) and coffee machine, great comfortable beds and a nice shower. Cleaning in our room was so-so. They forgot cleaning one day, than forgot the towels on another. Oh, and if you want your bed to be done, don't leave a lap top of any sort of device on it, cause they wont touch the bed if it's on it. Breakfast is standard American. Awesome bacon - thin and super crispy. Lunches were great as well. But beware of the room service because our experience, as well as our friends, was that it's right down UN-edible! it comes in a take away box and we complained and didn't get charged for it. awful! the staff at the reception are super nice and helpful and there is a fes-ex office in the hotel. Super nice gym, but n pool. There is CVS close by, and it's a walking distance to H&M, ZARA, Forever 21 and Chinatown. Best 2 restaurants that are 5 minutes walking distance are Tap House and Ping Pong. Don't miss 'em!

Room Tip: Some rooms are facing the inner reception hall and some face the street.
