Got a great deal on this hotel, as most of the others in our price range were getting awful reviews.
Lovely hotel - our room was located in a quiet area with nice views over Rock Creek Park, large bed and spacious room, large tv and clean bathroom with good supply of toiletries. Cleanliness kept at a good level and room well maintained during our stay.
Would recommend you visit the website and sign up to the Select Guest programme before your stay. This is free, and by giving your email address you qualify for free wifi, a daily newspaper and a free drink delivered to your room every morning. Also you can qualify for free nights if staying for 10 nights plus within a year.
In our room was a coupon for 20% off in the restaurant but we did not visit. Lots of nice places to eat within walking distance. Also easy walk to the National Zoo (free and well worth a visit) and just a few minutes from the Metro station.
Would love to stay in this hotel again when we next visit DC, but will have to keep an eye out for another great offer, as usually would be out of our price range!

I stayed here during a meeting in DC for four nights. This is an historic hotel, built in 1930. It has the charm and character of an old hotel, but the room I stayed in was still spacious, light, and comfortable (an issue in some older hotels), with a recently renovated bathroom. The building feels well cared for- so well cared for that it was hard to believe it was really built 80 years ago. The staff were excellent- everyone I interacted with was courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. By joining the loyalty program, you receive free internet service and free morning coffee or tea delivered to your room at your desired time, which were nice perks. The outstanding service and quality of the hotel at a reasonable price make the value substantially better than most DC hotels. The location is in Adams-Morgan.While the location is less central than some hotels, there is a Metro stop a block away (Red line), taxis can get you into much of central DC in under 10 minutes, and Rock Creek Parkway, with walking/running/biking paths is just below the hotel- I really liked being able to run along the parkway. Plus Adams Morgan has a lot happening. The pool was also excellent- if crowded. I've stayed in a lot of DC hotels, and this will be one of the hotels at the top of my list to return to whenever the location works.

We stayed at the Omni Shoreham Hotel for 3 nights on the 14th July 2012. The weather was extremely hot but our room was lovely and cool. Great size room with a walk in closet. Robert's Restaurant served lovely food though we only had one lunch here as there are some lovely restaurants just around the corner. Would also like to add that the hotel has the most beautiful gardens which is great for sipping a cocktail in or just sitting back and viewing the gorgeous flora.
This hotel is situated in a great part of Washington as after a hard days sight seeing to come back here and eat locally is so nice. Would definitely recommend this hotel if visiting Washington.

Room Tip: Request a room in the East Wing and on a high floor

we stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in july, as a base for exploring DC. we had a car with us, but we made use of the metro which was so close, about 2 blocks from the hotel, which was a big plus. the hotel is very impressive, old fashioned but still feels modern. there is alot of history to the hotel, which i liked, and there are historical memorabilia and pictures all throughout. we had a corner room and it was huge, there was even a treadmill in it! however when we first arrived to the room, i had to actually dust it down because i dont think it had been used in a while, thats probably why the treadmill was there, for storage purposes. the rest of the room was quite clean though, including the bathroom, which was another plus. there was a good sized flat screen in the room too which was essential for watching the olympics at night. we used the pool once, and i was surprised at how big it was. there was a food stand there too which i liked. we ordered room service once, and only once because there was a $4 delivery charge and 18% tax, so our 2 bowls of soup came out to $20. but it was the best maryland crab soup ive ever had. staff was very friendly to us and we had no issues at all. the best part was the milk and cookie that was there for my son our first night there, and the free coffee delivered to the room in the morning. make sure you sign up for the select guest program on the website before you get there, in order to get these perks. its free. one drawback are the extremely small and old elevators, but not really that big of a deal.. would likely stay there again

We are glad you had a great stay at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. Please accept our apologies if the treadmill had not been thoroughly dusted prior to your arrival. Although there are only a handful of our get fit rooms, which include a treadmill, we will remind our housekeeping team that it doesn't make them any less important to maintain. We are glad you otherwise enjoyed your time with us and we hope for a future opportunity to welcome you back.

We stayed two nights and would gladly have stayed for weeks. The room is beautiful and comfortable and the pool is a wonderful way to end a day of touring the capital. The service is perfect. The wifi in our room didn't work properly and a staff member came up and spent several minutes trying to make it work. When he couldn't, the hotel moved us and they were so gracious we didn't mind at all. the concierge offered help with restaurants and directions and other details perfectly. We booked the room with breakfast and it was well worth it. The breakfast is an amazing buffet with made to order eggs, waffles, a beautiful array of fresh berries, melon, and pineapple, bacon and sausage and my favorite, fresh french bread and french Le President butter. The dining room itself is airy and bright and a beautiful place to start the day. There is nothing about this hotel I don't love. It is my favorite hotel in the USA and I will be back just as soon as I can get there.

Room Tip: our room had a view of the pool and it was very attractive

Stayed here for a conference so received a great deal on rates. Check in was fast and staff were wonderful. I brought my family with me and the kids were treated to milk and cookies the first night (I had a bite, they were sooo good). Since I am a rewards member (sign up before you stay) we were treated with newspapers, free internet and morning beverage of our choice. Hotel is close to the metro and rooms are huge compared to more newer hotels. Pool was a nice size and even though it was crazy hot (record highs) there was enough space for everyone and while the pool area seemed busy it didn't seem overly crowed.

We had a problem with cleaning one day, took all the glassware and didn't leave any and with our room key, stopped working and was locked out of room, but problems were dealt with fast and efficiently. We were allowed a late check out at no cost and even allowed to use the pool after that since are train reservation didn't leave until early evening. We would definitely stay here again.

The front desk agent who checked us in had a very unpleasant attitude. I won't bore you with the details, but everytime I encounter someone with a terrible attitude who is in a hospitality or customer service oriented profession, I'm shocked. I shouldn't be though -- happens more often than not.

I was here for a weekend with my husband and 1.5 year old. The hotel itself is old, but nicely maintained. I think you first notice the wear in the elevators. Those things must be original. It's not airconditioned. Actually, the AC in the hotel is odd. Some hallways are ac'ed, others are stuffy and hot. Same with spots in the suite we had. It was a one-bedroom suite and it was huge. I don't know if what they have counts for central ac -- it's a modified ac wall unit. The controls look like that of a central system (on the wall and is digital), but there aren't vents in the bathroom (or the dining room and hallways of the suite.) Anyway, the wall unit was fine for the most part. But sometimes it got too cold. Then it got too hot. Good white noise for the baby while sleeping.

They offer coolers in the rooms, but they don't get very cool.

The sofa bed in our living room pulled out to be a very small double bed -- not made for two people. But like I said, the suite was huge -- it's advertised as 700+ sq ft, though I think it was more. We just slept in the bdrm with the baby. Because of the white noise from the ac unit, we didn't disturb him.

Since we travel a lot with our baby, I tend to write my reviews focused on helping out other traveling families with babies : ) Our little guy is a light sleeper, but our suite was great because even though it only had one bathroom, it wasn't connected to the bedroom, so we didn't disturb the baby once he was asleep. The bathroom was located at the end of a hallway.

We went to the pool a coule of times while there. Nice enough. Umbrellas and pool bar service. Nice mix of kids and adults. No kiddie pool, though there was a wading pool? Very small -- like a jacuzzi.

Ladies -- no counter space in the bathroom. It's a pedestal sink.

Elevators were slow sometimes. Very small, so it gets filled up quickly and you may have to let one pass before you get on. (We would have taken the stairs if we didn't have a baby in a stroller.)

Overall the hotel is fine. Some really like the historic charm. I think it's getting old and it's starting to show. But it's in a great location in the city. Lots of restaurants within walking distance.

Room Tip: The true one-bedroom suites are very large. More than enough room for a family of 4. It even had a d...
