Having stayed here many times, even through a minor fire alarm evacuation, I can honestly say that this is my very favorite hotel of all the ones I've stayed in over the years around DC. The only drawback (and not much of one) is that it is not centrally located, rather it's located out the Metro's red line and a very short walk from the National Zoo stop. Other than that, it is aging well and still breathtakingly beautiful. The extra small dark brown wooden elevators really make you feel like you've gone back in time! It is historically connected to famous people and presidents who have stayed there as well as shows that have been performed there and movies that have filmed there. The Woodley Park area is right down from Dupont Circle and Rock Creek Park as well as a stone's throw to portions of Embassy Row. Rooms are immaculate and full of extra ammenities depending on which one you stay in. I recently stayed in a room whose bathtub could have easily held two people and had a wrap around shower curtain. Too bad I was solo on this trip! I also had a cute little mini fridge to keep a few things in and the coffee maker was kept in the entertainment center, NOT the bathroom! Omg, that is such a pet peeve of mine! Overall, I confidently believe anyone who stays here will be impressed enough to return if given the opportunity! If you haven't stayed here, it's time you treat yourself and do it!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Washington Monument since it will also overlook the beautiful greenery of Rock Creek Park!

We stayed here for only one night but managed to enjoy every bit of it! The staff is so professional and courteous. You'll feel like a celebrity as they greet you and welcome you to their hotel. We booked a deluxe room that included breakfast and parking which was well worth it. The room was big enough for a rollaway and we still and plenty of space to move around. We stayed in the East wing which is part of the older section but it was renovated so nicely. Definitely register for the Omni Select Guests membership online because it's free and you get wifi in your room, a choice of morning coffee, tea or juice delivered to your room, a morning paper, an evening turndown with milk and cookies and a few other perks that just make you feel so pampered and happy! And one of the best things is the pool. You'll feel like you're at a resort! It's huge and has plenty of chairs and umbrellas to relax under. There is food service and they'll bring it right to your chaise! The hotel lobby is beautiful...a throwback to the elegance of the 30s and 40s. The rates are a little pricy, but it's not that much more than many other DC hotels that don't offer as much.

Friendly and impressive hotel. Rooms are very spacious and beds are comfy. Breakfast buffet very high quality. Nice pool area and gym with small sauna.

Good location too close to zoo and a couple of underground stops from the central area of the city.
Good selection of restaurants across the road and Dupont Circle within walking distance for nightlife and shopping.

His hotel is very nice and the lobby is beautiful. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The pool is nice, but food and drink menu at pool is very limited and very expensive. It is not within walking distance to may sights. You will need a car to get around.

I have stayed at the Shoreham many times over the past 30+ years. I have had a wonderful experience each time. Our June 2014 visit was not exception. The room, the pool and the food were all fabulous. My children (ages 18 months and 10 years) enjoyed it as well. I would recommend this hotel to any business or vacation traveler.
