“Hard to find fault”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 December 2013

I was fortunate to get a very good last-minute rate for a 5 night stay. I also was lucky to get a complimentary upgrade in my room. The accommodations were very spacious, clean, well maintained, with plenty of amenities and conveniences. Very comfortable bed, sizable bath with free standing shower in addition to bath and lots of storage space spread out over a lot of space as far as hotel bathrooms go.

Internet and breakfast included, which was quite the bargain. The style is very cool, elegant modern, without a lot of fuss. The service, especially front desk and concierge, was outstanding, especially when I needed to make alternate travel arrangements in light of a major incoming storm.

The only negatives were: other hotel guests on the same floor were partying a lot and very noisy; the shower did not have a lot of water pressure and the temperature was erratic; and the breakfast credit got eaten up quickly by the restaurant's pretty high prices. But the food was excellent all the same. Convenient location though the immediate neighborhood is nothing to write home about. Still would stay again without hesitation.

I chose to stay at the Park Hyatt for a quick visit to DC 2 weeks ago primarily because it was situated strategically close to Georgetown and proximate to George Washington University. I had always heard good things about the hotel and thought it was worth a try. The lobby is modern and eye catching, the door men friendly and helpful, and check in was handled promptly in a professional and courteous manner that one usually encounters at a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton. The levitators have an interesting twist - a seat for resting while ascending or descending. The rooms are spacious but mine was a bit tired and in need of some cosmetic attention. The beds and pillows are excellent. The bathrooms are roomy with above average shower pressure for the DC area and the Le Labo products are top notch. The indoor pool was a slight disappointment. Both the pool and spa had a somewhat institutional feel about them (think rehab hospital), which varied from the pictures on the website. The means of access to the pool area is puzzling also. The gourmet breakfast in the restaurant was FANTASTIC!!!! The service and food were both 5 stars. The only hiccup at the restaurant was trying to get takeout for the plane ride home. It was as though I had invented to concept of ordering food to go at that very moment. The delay was painful but the staff was nice. All in all, I would recommend a stay at the Park Hyatt.

nothing beats a great soaker tub and great food.. This location has both, the bathrooms are really special here with a slate standing shower and a huge soaker tub with a shelf that you can put an I-Pad on to watch your fav show while you soak!!
room service was good but the restaurant downstairs is AMAZING... the exec suites are nice but if you can afford the Ambassador suite SPLURGE... The furnishings are special..
the staff was amazing and very helpful.
Trader Joe's is a couple blocks away from this hotel and the street does not have a lot of traffic so it was quite quiet..

Stayed three nights over a weekend. Service was effective and friendly. Breakfast in the Blue Duck Tavern was an impressive experience. Room was comfortable and decor was modern. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Complimentary transportation options include bicycles as well as a sedan within 5 miles.

I stayed three days and really enjoyed at Hyatt. The room was large enough and the bed was so comfortable. The concierge was very professional and advised me popular restaurants around. I will definitely choose Hyatt on my next visit to DC.

Stayed here for a work function for 6 nights. I think we were in an executive room (had two separate areas 1) with desk seating area 2) bedroom. Room was spotless - super clean, hardwood floors in the entranceway, huge OPEN rain shower (wife wasn't a fan but I was), and well stocked mini bar!
Only odd advise would be if your on a "first couple vacation" - the shower has little privacy to the rest of the bathroom (has no door really). The bathroom have a main door but if someone is showering and other wants to go to the closet (in bathroom) you'll see all of the person showing.

Restaurant in hotel is also amazing (Blue Duck) - TBD fries are to die for.

Lastly service was TOP notch / very helpful and professional.

Overall amazing hotel-

Dear mepatm,

Thank you for taking the time to share your valued feedback with us. It sounds like a wonderful stay in our hotel, including our BDT Triple Fries from Blue Duck Tavern (a favorite of mine as well!) We appreciate you letting us know your concerns regarding our shower. They were designed to create a spa-like environment, but we certainly understand why they might not be to everyone's liking. We hope to welcome you and your wife back again soon!

We had a lovely stay at the Park Hyatt DC this weekend. Having stayed at Park Hyatts in Tokyo and Paris - and loved them - I have always been curious about this property which is tucked in a quiet leafy corner of the West End neighborhood of NW DC. If you are visiting as a tourist, it's a great neighborhood - residential, quiet and clean and within walking distance to Georgetown, DuPont circle and the White House.

The hotel's public spaces are very chic and beautiful. The wine bar/lounge is fabulous, a very stylish scene, with a great wine and food selection. The restaurant is renowned; we had breakfast here each day and the service was impeccable - even though we were there with a boisterous toddler who didn't exactly match the quiet elegance of the surroundings! It's one of the things I was most impressed with (the family-friendliness in such an elegant property). They brought up crayons and coloring book sheets at the restaurant and send up cookies and milk to my daughter one night.

Wifi is free and fast. Room was great. I was upgraded on status to a deluxe king that had a separate sitting room. Sparse furniture but that's the look of the Park Hyatt brand. Armchairs were a little tired but all in all room was great especially give the rate I was paying. I loved the shower/bathroom which other reviewers have thought impractical ... I thought it was really luxurious - a highlight! Everything in the hotel from the public spaces to the room was perfectly clean.

The first night I stayed I was in a room the faced the back of the hotel and was woken up at about 10pm by some kind of trash collection below. When I complained the next morning the front desk staff immediately responded and moved me to the same room type facing the front. It was a rocky start to what will now be the first of many stays at the Park Hyatt DC; I had a really pleasant and almost perfect stay!

PS. There is a great gym, pool, and jacuzzi that is hidden away off the 3rd floor!
