This hotel came recommended from a friend. Was a bit nervous with all the "red" but once I saw it in person, I really liked it. The room was large and comfortable. Bathroom a bit small but great shower! Location great...walking distance to many restaurants with outdoor patio's. Awesome little "ThiaPhoon" restaurant right around the corner. Blink and you'll miss it. 10 min walk to the White House. Caught the Old Town trolley 5 min from hotel at the Mayflower Hotel..just make sure if you purchase ticket online you include the green line as that is the line that travels out to Dupont Circle. Would recommend this hotel. Staff friendly enough and the wine serving from 5-6 pm was a nice touch on return from a busy day. No complaints....$43.00 daily parking ouches, but all hotels charge it.

Room Tip: We had room 511 with street view of church. Was nice and quiet

We stayed for 3 nights in August. Great place to stay in Washington, close enough to walk to all the major sights, even Georgetown! Rooms were clean and spacious, bathroom was small but clean. We loved the complimentary wine between 5pm and 6pm. Staff very friendly and helpful. Best thing about this hotel would be location.

OK, this is good 3.5 star property. Some cosmetic renovations needed here and there. But generally good and comfortable stay. Large room.

The shampoo dispenser was not working properly, so left a note which no one neither read nor fixed. Minibar without price-list. Not a major issue, but still something to look at.

Comfortable bed and strong wifi connection. Basic breakfast. But overall good price/quality ratio

I just came back from Washington DC where we stayed at this Hotel. We were a family of 10 people including 4 little kids. The last day at the hotel, last Tuesday August 12th, it was pouring cats and dogs in Washington. We checked out and paid our rooms and we were waiting outside at the entrance of the hotel (which is not very large) for our car to be brought from the hotel's parking. Being a family of 10 we had a large number of suitcases and bags. When the gentlemen who brought our car saw us trying to load our car as fast as we could under the heavy rain and getting soaking wet in doing so, he offered to help us out however, one of the front desk ladies (don't know her name but she had curly hair and bad attitude) overheard him and in a very rude and unprofessional way, told him to move on and keep going. I guess since we already checked out, she didn't feel we were worth to be helped out. Since, that's our last impression of Hotel Rouge, the poor and rude attitude from some of their front desk people, we doubt we would ever choose them again. While the hotel is very clean and modern and the rooms are great, the poor treatment we received from some of their employees is the last impression we took and remember so, having so many great hotel choices in the city, we doubt we would ever come back or recommend it to anybody.

Hi LydiaF74. How disappointing that a good experience was ruined by a seemingly chaotic departure. I did check with the front desk lady that was helping you and she was trying to assist by getting the bellman to move the cars forward so that she could get your other 2 cars out from the garage. She may have been abrupt but her intentions were good and she feels awful that he caused such a poor lasting impression. We all learn from feedback and this is no exception, so thank you again for giving us your feedback.

We only stayed for one night but we found the hotel to be very comfortable. It is a bit quirky, the decor and colours are probably not to everyone's taste, but we can't complain.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great location, up the road from the White House!

Has a boutique hotel feel in a larger property. The red motif takes a little getting used to, but works overall. Good location, about a half-mile to the White House and about a mile to the National Mall, and with some nice restaurants within easy walking distance. Felt very safe walking around, even later at night. We tried to extend our stay additional night, but as that went into the weeknight stay category, it more than doubled the price of the room. Had a few challenges with the transfer service as were leaving, and the Bellman went way above and beyond in trying to help us resolve it - we were very appreciative of his efforts.

This is one of my favorite hotels to stay @ in DC because of It's red theme. I Love most of the Kimpton hotels because they're all themed in nature and they all have their own unique esthetic. I've stayed here so many times that I can't even count. Its great if you want to have a romantic evening with your sweetie and cute enough if you want to have a girls weekend.
