“Great hotel...fantastic service!”
Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

We came for a night to do some sightseeing before heading to stay with family. We picked this hotel because it was a great price with a pretty good rating. Sorry, but the 4 star rating is too low!
My son unfortunately got sick (cold and major asthma) on the day before we arrived and it got worse after check in. Kelly Little at the front office/desk was amazing. She helped with so many things and did so much to make our stay better and make our son feel better. Too much to list.... Hey Kimpton, she is a major score and you need to make sure you keep her! She offered to help find medical care for him if needed and sent him some food along with our room service.

The next morning I called to ask if we could extend our check out but it was already a noon check out. We were able to extend it further so our son could rest. I spoke to Cheryl and explained how our son was unwell and she too was concerned and asked if he needed anything. She sent him up some food and juice and when he finally woke up, he was so happy to eat his favorite meal. I told her to put it on my account but she didnt care about that. She just wanted to make sure my sick son had what he needed.

Our room was great, clean and very trendy. The hotel was modern, updated and had an AWESOME happy hour that should not be missed (did I mention its free?). Everything you need is within a few blocks including a 24 hour CVS if you need antibiotics in the middle of the night.

Stay here! We will again for sure!

Fabulous room, great service, they supported our business meeting (28 people) really nicely, food was very good too. Location is very close to monuments, Georgetown, train station, and lots of restaurants. Highly recommend!

We stayed for 4 nights at the Palomar on a family sight seeing trip.

Lots of positives:

Very helpful and friendly staff, especially Nabeel who really went out of his way to help
Nice big room
Small outdoor pool with towels, good to cool off at end of day
Location in DuPont Circle, a nice part of town with a good selection of restaurants and coffee bars in surrounding streets. A really pleasant walk into Georgetown and a slightly longer walk down to the National Mall, museums, etc. Very close to a metro station.
We went out for breakfast and can recommend Le Pain Quotidien and Firehook Bakehouse

Couple of negatives:

The restaurant was closed for refurbishment
Air conditioning at night rather noisy
We wanted to use the free bikes one day but all had apparently been taken by 7 in the morning (the hotel has 11 bikes)....you need to pick up the phone early!

Would definitely use this hotel again.

Room Tip: We were in room 1042 (highest room number in hotel). Two queen size beds and lots of space, a nice v...

We stayed for two nights. We caught a taxi from the airport which cost about $65. The staff at the hotel were very helpful, especially the girls on reception. The pool was nice, they provided towels and the gym looked good. Our room was nice and clean and quiet. It's well worth going to the 5 o'clock complimentary wine and nibbles, we chatted to other tourists both evenings. The hotel is an easy walk into Georgetown which is very pretty and has plenty of shops and places to eat. Dupont circle is also walking distance. A nice little hotel, I would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: Our double room was quite small but we were told the twin rooms are a lot bigger.

My husband and I stayed here a couple nights as we were touring around Washington DC. I am very picky about the hotels I stay in and this definitely met my standards.
The rooms are spacious. Bathroom is big. Beds are comfortable. The decor is modern and nice. It's not like standard hotels you stay in and that's why I liked it so much. We stayed right by the elevator so I thought it would wake us up in the night but I never heard a peep.
Staff was very friendly and gave us a map of DC and helped us figure out what we were going to do.
I couldn't of asked for a better vacation and a better hotel.

The hotel is located in a fantastic area of Dupont Circle and is close to many fantastic restaurants and the metro stop. The staff were extremely professional and courteous, and assisted me in all that I needed. The room was a bit tiny, but the decor was exquisite. Very modern decor and very comfortable bed. I would definitely stay here again.
