“Very good service!”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

I was in Washington DC on business and decided to give this hotel a try. A friend of mine accompanied me on this trip, so there were two of us. I am so glad I selected this hotel. We got to the hotel way before check-in time and our room was not ready, but staff gave us the option of a smaller room that was ready at the time or we could wait for the larger room. Of course we could wait, but it was nice that they were willing to accommodate as they were able.

I went to work every day and when I returned someone opened the door and greeted me with a smile, which was nice. Then each evening someone brought bottles of water (free, no ridiculous charge). The room had all amenities, it was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The towels are nice and white and thick enough, the sheets were soft enough and so it was a very comfortable stay. We also had a mini-fridge in the room to keep drinks cold and snacks from the Whole Foods Market that is nearby. It was also very quiet so I was never awakened at night.

We had the breakfast deal which was really good. They provide a full buffet with fresh made omelets, eggs and waffles, meats and cheeses, bagels and lox and trimmings, cereals, fresh fruits, oatmeal, a nice assortment of bread and pastries, and just about anything you might want for breakfast. Coffee and juice are included.

The location is good, especially if you like to walk. There are metro stations a few blocks away. It is also walkable to the Convention Center, Chinatown, Dupont Circle, the White House and Mall area to name a few. If you really like to walk the U Street Corridor and Adams Morgan areas are within two miles and make for nice hikes because there is a lot to see along the way. If you need something, there is a CVS pharmacy across the circle, department stores within a few blocks, the Whole Foods, and an Aveda store nearby.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room if they have one. They mentioned they were bigger.

The Washington Plaza was a nice hotel with friendly service.. Our room was clean and big with a comfortable bed, a nice sitting area and a balcony. We liked it and would return there. I have to mention, however, that the walls are very thin and this area of DC is not quiet. If you are a light sleeper, this may not be the right place for you. Other than that, it is in a good location, close to a metro stop and several bars/restaurants. Overall, a good experience.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, request a room not facing Logan Circle.

My wife and I decided to do a day trip to Washington, D.C.. Because the weather was so great we decided to stay overnight. We had no reservations and decided to see if we could get a room at the Washington plaza. We were greeted by Joe & Melissa within minutes we had a great room at a great reasonable price. The effort and kindness Joe and Melissa put in to accommodate us can only be described exemplary. If you have a hotel in the area steal him & her your hotel's ratings will unquestionably rise.

Thank you so much for all of your assistance and making are stay very special! I would most def recommend this hotel!!!

We had a pleasant stay at the Washington Plaza Hotel. The hotel was very clean in the public space and the rooms were kept clean with service twice a day. We had breakfast included in our rate and that was very good and convenient before a day of sightseeing. We returned at night to 2 bottles of water complimentary. We had a mini fridge which also was good. The staff were polite and always available to help with advice for restaurants. We never once had to open a front door. The doormen always tended to those. The pool was very clean and an added charm on a very hot day after touring. Only 3 blocks to the nearest Metro station, and about 5 blocks to the White House. We found this hotel to be a great home base while staying in Washington, DC as it is convenient to all..... Restaurants, 24 hr. CVS, Metro..... We would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again on another trip to Washington....

Room Tip: The first 3 floors of the hotel have balconies facing the pool and Thomas Circle. We had a room on...

We had a pleasant stay at the Washington Plaza. It was conveniently located and we walked most everywhere. Was clean and comfortable and met all our needs. Staff were all very polite and helpful. We ate in the restaurant on site and the food was not bad.

Walking distance to Washington Mall area (or metro, depending on your walking preferences) with good selection of restaurants, pharmacy and convenience store nearby. Rooms are clean and pleasantly decorated. Staff is very friendly and service oriented. My 11 year-old son loved the pool.

This hotel is in walking distance of a lot of great attractions and places to eat. The staff are really friendly and the rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable. We went out sight seeing and when we came back, our ice bucket was filled with ice and we had bottled water waiting. The blinds were drawn and the staff had left a note to thank us for staying. There are door people who open the door for us. The coolest thing is the hotel is geared toward sustainability. There are real water glasses and coffee cups in the rooms!
