“Attentive Staff and Excellent Hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2013

This place is the best kept secret inWashington. I stay here several times a year and do so because of the staff. The hotel is in an Awesome location, and continues to keep up with the needs of frequent travelers. I can't tell you how nice it is to have someone be genuinely glad to see you and actually remember you from your last trip there. The concierge lounge is great, spacious, and have meeting pods with tv monitors you can plug your laptop into for greater participation.

The rooms have been completely remodeled, have refrigerators, and some rooms even have Kerrigan coffee makers. I have stayed here over 10 times in the past 2 years and actually insider this place my home away from home. It's very impressive to have the hotel GM standing in the lobby greeting guest, and when small issues arise, the staff takes it seriously and takes action.

Nicole (one of the Navigators that helps you experience the city) can work her magic and get you into so of the greatest restaurants, as well as tell you fun places to go after dinner. I've asked her for the impossible, only to receive a call on my cell informing me of my reservation time and giving me her idea of the best dish of the house.

This is my favorite place in DC, and its close to everything!!!

Room Tip: Ask to be upgraded to a jr. Suite. Separate seating area with couch and chairs.

Speed check-in and attentive personnel at front desk. While traveling alone on business I felt more comfortable having my meals by the lobby bar and I have to say that the Bar Menu was excellent with plenty of choices...awesome Crab Chowder! Bartenders made you feel at home. Flawless and attentive service...Thank You!
Rooms are big and comfortable, housekeeping service impeccable.
Starbucks in the lobby for a quick breakfast, perfect!

Room Tip: 14th floor was great. Couldn't hear a thing from the street

Dear debnelsonr,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review about our hotel. Our style department (housekeeping team) do keep our newly renovated guest rooms immaculate.

I agree that our miXX Lounge (lobby bar) has amazing bartenders and a great menu that will please just about any palate. While the Crab Chowder is a must (my mouth waters just thinking about it), the Roasted Tomato Soup with Artisan Grilled Cheese sandwich is the perfect choice for the autumn weather in Washington.

When your travels return you to our Nation's Capital, we look forward to serving you again!

Sincerely,

Sharon Lockwood

First of all, has an excellent location.. A few blocks from Chinatown and 5 minutes driving to: Museums, White House, Lincoln Memorial, Dontown, Best restaurants in the city, etc.

Although the building is old, the lobby and the rooms are renovated, the beds are very comfortable, the rooms are spacious, the food is very good and the employees are very friendly.

They have a VIP lounge on the 2nd floor, a convention center, several restaurants and a bar with great atmosphere in the lobby. They also have a Starbucks

Parking is not cheap, there is an option across the street that costs USD 30 per day

They have less expensive rates on weekends

Stayed here while attending a convention across the street. I love how close it is to the convention center. The rooms have been renovated since the last time I stayed here (about 2 years ago) and I just love the decor. The check-in process was efficient, the bed super comfortable, and the room service was delicious! Looking forward to staying here again in the future- top notch all the way!

A very nice and spacious hotel close to everything in central DC. 1 block from the Convention and 1 block from the Verizon Center. Metro is 2 blocks away and so is the little Chinatown area. There is a starbucks in the lobby and a great bar area. Multiple entrances and exits are all sides. Rooms are very nice and very clean. Parking is very expensive for valet, so self park may save you a few bucks. Registration and check in was swift and professional. Did have a room near where some music was blaring quite loud, so noise level could be an issue if there are groups of young people near your room.

Dear Too Poor 2,

Thank you for taking the time to write a wonderful review about our hotel. I appreciate that you enjoyed our outstanding location - as you mentioned, we are close to EVERYTHING!

I understand your concern about the music you heard - if you were in this past weekend, we had a one-time event on the plaza outside our hotel that had great music - but it was heard in our hotel for a period of time.

Please come back and visit us again - I would like to personally thank you for taking the time to review us!

Sincerely,

First of all tip: IF you are a registered guest & have Marriott rewards number - let them valet your car - why...it's FREE. We didn't know this until after we checked in and 'self-parked' and then had a little issue of not being charged.
The check-in was amazingly fast. The rooms clean. The cocktails good and surprisingly (says the wine snob) their selection is pretty good. Their breakfast buffet was the only thing lacking - food wasn't always hot, but still very tasty.
If you are attending for a convention and/or going to the convention center - it's right across the street.

Room Tip: Rooms 7th floor and above have a view. Room 724 has a view of the convention center

Dear bridalease229,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay at your hotel.

I appreciate that you loved our check-in process, clean rooms and great beverage selection at our bars.

I do want to mention that, unfortunately, we do not manage the garage or valet parking and that it is not free to registered guests who are reward members. However, either option is very convenient in our downtown location.

Thank you again for taking the time to write a review!

Sharon Lockwood
