Frankly, the best thing about this hotel is the foyer area - and the fact that an Illy cafe is tagged onto the corner of the hotel. The rooms are very ordinary, and lack any charm. For some reason there was a sink in my room - almost like a self-catering room - but it served no purpose. I would not stay again.

If you are only in town for the weekend, and wish to stay right in the heart of the District, then I recommend the Renaissance Washington. Great restaurants and things to do are all within walking distance. Hotel has nice rooms, although ours was a bit small.

While there, try the coffee at Illy, which is adjacent to the hotel.

The staff is very accomodating and knowledgeable.

This is a really nice, beautifully renovated hotel. It is not really in DuPont Circle, is in fact very convenient to the State Department and George Washington University--Foggy Bottom is the closest metro stop.

Negatives: really only that my room was quite small and that the air blew directly on the workspace, where I spent a lot of time. The bathroom was also small but with a really, really nice shower and generally beautiful. Coffee in room, and everything was there even though it was very compact. Staff were extremely helpful. The Club lounge has a breakfast every morning and buffet dinner weekdays. The lobby is fun and open and also a nice place to work. WiFi worked well.

Health club is also really nice though not huge, with new good machines and free headphones and apples. No pool, though that is rare in Washington.

The room was clean and had everything I needed. The staff was very friendly and professional. Maria in the consierge lounge was amazing! The location was convenient. I will definitely stay again the next time I am in the DC area.

We picked this hotel because of its proximity to DuPont Circle for a two night stay. Despite its name it is a few blocks away but the neighbourhood is lovely. The staff are very professional and helpful. Our room was spacious and quiet. The hotel seemed much more personal thn it's size would suggest.

I took my ladyfriend on a romantic trip to DC over the holiday weekend and was not dissapointed. I was able to get a great rate through the hotel website and due to my Marriot Gold level I was able to check in early, upgrade to one of the largest king rooms, have access to free wireless in room in addition to access to the club lounge. Front staff was very helpful in every way.

Room Tip: Arrive early and do not hesitate to ask for an upgrade. Rooms in the back have zero view yet are som...

This hotel is convenient to George Washington University and a short walk to DuPont Circle. The staff is friendly and efficient. Yes, the sleeping area was small but it was actually more convenient to have the TV, desk, and bed in close proximity. In contrast, there was a large glass-box tiled shower and plenty of counter space in the lavatory. For one person, the room was fine. My main complaint is that even the premium internet service yielded a weak signal and was not accessible in the conference meeting rooms (where you needed a conference password). The breakfast buffet was pretty standard, but cost $25.10 with taxes. There is only valet parking and it is $41.30 a day with taxes. Finding this place on mapquest or google maps is tricky, as there are several DC hotels with Renaissance in their name and this one is on New Hampshire south of DuPont circle.

Room Tip: Front rooms on busy street, back rooms no view but very quiet.
