Got a great deal on priceline, so we went big and didn't regret it for a second. The first room we got was tiny, so I simply asked the front desk if I could get into something with a king bed, the agent instantly got us into an amazing king room, arranged to move our stuff, and we were good to go. One of the best instances of customer service I've experienced anywhere. The location is great for visiting the Smithsonians and national monuments, and is in walking distance to some pretty serious eating too. Don't miss the round bar in the hotel itself, drinks are pricey, but the ambiance is priceless!

Room Tip: Asking for what you want never hurts.

There are few times in the year we will launch amazing deals and are so delighted that you caught one of them. I am pleased that we were able to move you to a room that was more suitable to your needs. We really enjoy building relationships with our guests and making sure that they leave with a positive and lasting memory. If you ever feel like getting away from the sand of VA Beach and exploring the city; we hope that you choose the Willard as your destination.

Sincerely,

Patrick Birchall

I came to the Willard last minute with my son in March. We were there during that super cold spell that hit DC after a lovely warm-up that we missed. We can say we saw snow in DC...but more about the hotel.

The check-in clerk was fantastic and gave my son a map to try and find all 50 state seals. The room was enormous, clean and the bathroom was huge too. The lobby is lovely and from what we could see the tea looked great too.

We ordered room service as a special treat and there was enough for an army...so you can order one item to share between a parent and a elementary age boy! The food was tasty too.

I would highly recommend a night here if you need a place close to the action in DC. We will be back!

We went to DC for my daughters college graduation and wanted to stay near the historic section and we did. The Willard is walking distance to The Mall, The White House and many other sights. The hotel itself was great, we had reserved a junior suite which was not available when we got there they upgraded us to a much larger suite at no extra cost. The staff was very friendly and the bar in the hotel was very historic and fun. We will definitely stay here again.

This is a remarkable property--full of history and opulence of ages past. I was particularly thrilled to see all of the state seals painted into the ceiling of the lobby. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The rooms are quiet and gorgeous. Nothing is left to chance. It was a great experience staying there.

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at the Willard InterContinental. We are very fortunate to work in one of the historic buildings in Washington, D.C. and are glad you felt the same way. I am glad you enjoyed the state seals on the lobby ceiling; were you able to find Alaska and Hawaii? They are above the steps in Peacock Alley. We can’t wait to welcome you back in the near future.

My sister took me to tea at the Willard. It was a lovely experience. Beautiful ambiance, harpist playing in the corner, attentive wait staff. Take my advice; skip the cucumber sandwiches and ask for extra clotted cream and lemon custard to go with the scones. Deeelish. Lovely, but pricey. (I didn't find a way to rate just the tearoom, so I rated the hotel.)

We loved our stay. We were on a upper floor with a fantastic view. This historic hotel has been beautifully restored and has the best location in Washington

I have just 2 minor complaints. There is no excuse for charging for the Internet. Also the cafe serves average food with poor service. We did enjoy the bar. We had the Park and Stay package.
