Owner description: Since 1964, Phoenix International Raceway has been the premier motorsports venue in the Southwest. Founded as an open-wheel racing mecca, PIR was proud to host the Desert Diamond West Valley Phoenix Grand Prix Verizon IndyCar Series race under the lights in April. Phoenix is the only track in the West to feature two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekends a year, beginning with the Good Sam 500 race weekend in March. The schedule is anchored by the upcoming Can-Am 500 race weekend in November, the semifinal race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup after which the field will be reduced to the final four championship contenders.

“Best Nascar track I have ever dealt with”

So many things to say…. Camping at this track is the most fun of any track I have ever been to. The Cantina bar bonds the fans of Ford, Chev, Toyota like a redneck frat party. Of course, on race day, every man is for himself.

I have been getting group tickets for the last couple of years. Kaleb in their marketing department has been PHENOMENAL. He has made it SO easy for me to get the seats everyone wants, even when I have let the ball drop. Dealing with this track is always a pleasure. E-mails are promptly returned. They do anything they can to help in a very timely manner.

I love this track. The grocery store AT the track makes it so easy to never be without beer as I never have to drive and always have access to more. The Cantina bar with different bands every night is like having a dance party in your backyard without annoying your friends by making them leave before they ready.

Great track. I really can't say enough about it.

“Great Track To See A NASCAR Race”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2013

This is a great track to see a NASCAR race up close and personal. Unlike Daytona, Talladega, or other tracks that are over 2 miles in length, Phoenix is large enough for some high-speed excitement but small enough to allow you to see the entire race without binoculars...

“Great experience.”

Went to three days of NASCAR. Plenty of free parking. Good signage to get there. Recommend the Park and Ride for Sunday's race. Very easy. The track's online site maps could be much better. Not very helpful for non RVers.

“NASCAR National Sprint race”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 November 2013

My 1st NASCAR race and I only attended at PIR as curiosity (I was previously dismissive of races that consisted of driving in circles) but I'm now a convert!
Drama, spectacle, noise (now I finally understand why Days of Thunder was called that!). I loved it.
If you are a real fan of motor racing but have dismissed oval racing from a purist perspective (the full course yellow for an advert break still grinds a bit) then put your prejudices aside and make a trip. You won't regret it.
Circuit facilities were good, access and parking were both well managed and viewing was excellent (sit at the top of a grandstand to get the better view).
