Enjoyed a 3 day stay at the Fensalden Inn at the end of Sept. 2013.
Chris, the owner and innkeeper could not have been more accommodating.
The Inn was comfortable and beautifully appointed. Numerous extras such as the complimentary bottle of wine and the snacks available at all times made the stay even more special. The view of the Pacific and the sunsets from the Mariner Room is breathtaking. The breakfasts were fantastic, wholesome, better than fine restaurant quality.
The Inn itself with the history and the extensive grounds and walking paths rounded out the visit to make our stay a near perfect one.
And, thank you Molli for booking us a dinner reservation at the Albion River Inn. We had the best table in the house with an awesome view and fantatstic dinner.

Room Tip: Awesome views from the Mariner Room Ask Molli to book dinner reservations. She must have local con...

This gorgeous Inn is a piece of HEAVEN here on earth! Chris and Molli and Bobby and the entire family were the best hosts ever!
The rooms are spotless and cozy , the lil touches as in the chocolates and a bottle of wine chilled and waiting in the room was such a nice surprise. Breakfast every morning was delicious and kept us full until dinner. Molli packed us a picnic lunch filled with local yummies to take to the beach which was spectacular!
Uncle Bobbie played some amazing tunes at breakfast as well . They really make you feel welcomed and at home here and we can not thank them enough for making our anniversary weekend beautiful and memorable . We already are planning a trip back !! Thank you so much for everything!!!

My wife and I were on a vacation. This was a return visit for me - I had been at the Fensalden two years prior to this in May of 2011 with my son.
Having enjoyed my time there before I booked here again. All I could say would just sound like someone mentioning some nice things about their own home, i.e., comfortable and nicely appointed rooms (bedrooms and various others), quiet, beautiful grounds, good company (hosts and other guests).
This is now a must on each return to Mendocino County.

Room Tip: I noted some reviews where people were disappointed by fog ... try May.

We were delighted with the secluded, peaceful feeling of the Fensalden Inn. We had a great room with a small balcony and in-bed ocean views. Fridge with wine greeted us upon arrival, sherry nightcaps put us to sleep, and phenomenal souffles awaited us at breakfast. Both a great value as well as a convenient home base for exploring a few redwood parks and Anderson Valley Wineries. We wish we had stayed a third night and instead day-tripped to Fort Bragg instead of moving our lodgings up the coast. Will definitely try to return!

Room Tip: We LOVED our blue room upstairs with coastal views. We could lay in bed and see the ocean!

We stayed with Chris & Molli after winning a gift card for our stay. It was the most quiet and peaceful place ever, the hospitality was a 10, the food was out of this world, and our room was quaint and very comfortable. The shower was awesome and all the amenities were over the top. We are going back in September and taking friends because this place is too nice not to be shared!!!

Room Tip: The rooms on the first floor in the main house have their own porch. If you want to hear total silen...

Our hosts, Chris & Molly were helpful in getting last minute dinner reservations and local leads. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed. Naturally everything is comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a yummy labor of love. The Inn has a sea overlook, and rooms look out over a restful setting filled with birds, ducks, and even a resident goat! Short drive to enjoy the dining options of Mendocino, but stay in a more relaxing and private spot. You'll be delighted you stayed!

We had a most enjoyable stay at the inn, the host was there when needed but not an overbearing presence. The inn is in a beautiful restful setting-we enjoyed just sitting by the window watching the birds gather around the many feeders. We even saw some deer hopping in the grass. There are games of all sorts, binoculars, and many books for your use.
The breakfast was wonderful both mornings that we were there.

Room Tip: The Ridge room has a seperate entrance with a porch.
