“Not a Hotel but a expensive motel”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2014

Unfortunately I have to do business trips to the area and stay on this property since it is the only place in town other than the casino (which runs over $200 a night).

I will start with the front desk. Three of the people working there are plain rude, I'm not asking you to go the extra mile to be nice but at least don't be rude to your customers.
Had to go downstairs twice because they couldn't find a reservation I had seen the day I checked in and the second time he was extremely rude when I insisted it was in their binder, and surprisingly enough he founded when I insisted.

Breakfast is a joke, really small room with even a smaller selection. For two days straight they didn't even have half of the stuff because "the delivery truck didn't show up", seriously you cant leave a whole hotel without breakfast two days in a row when you have a Albertson's up the street, just unprofessional.

If you have a room by the pool you will get noise all day from kids and families and at night from adults drinking by it.

I found trash under the bed when I checked in which leaves you with that feeling...what else haven't they cleaned? But to be fair housekeeping is far nicer than front desk, they will accommodate any requests you make.

I am a business traveler that usually stays in Marriot or Holiday properties and this property is just a really expensive motel, nowhere close to any of those chains.

Room Tip: Stay away from the pool if you dont want noise.

Hotel was clean and all of the staff were very accommodating. The location was very convenient for travel to San Diego. The access on and off the freeway was very easy. It was also nice to have the restaurants and small grocery store close by.

This hotel is a very nice place to stay at when in the Alpine area. I only had two minor beefs. The first is I could not get the internet to work on my tablet or iPhone. It saw the wifi, but did not allow you to log on. I am quite computer literate, and usually have no trouble logging onto a hotel site. The second is the front desk clerk could use some training on being nice to customers. It seemed like she was put out when my wife asked her a question. In the end, the room is clean and the bed was comfortable. I would compare it to a Marriott Courtyard in quality. We did not bother with breakfast at the hotel, as there is an excellent breakfast restaurant in the shopping center next door. Do not pass it up. Killer French toast

Room Tip: We had a room on the far end and it was quiet.

I've had the please of staying at several of the other Ayers locations, so when we needed lodging in the San Diego area, we naturally thought of Ayers. We were not disappointed. Convinient location to restaurants and freeway access. Delighted by the rear courtyard area. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff was, as we've found elsewhere, more than helpful. Can't say enough about how pleased we've always been with the Ayers group.

We only stayed one night in the Ayres hotel in Alpine but wanted to say it was a good experience. The hotel is quant and clean and the staff is very friendly. The grounds are well kept and it is conveniently located near restaurants and groceries. It is not fancy but it is very clean, cute and comfortable!

We have just returned from a three week stay at Ayres Lodge. What a little gem of a place The staff there, Brian, Steve, Donald, Rosa and the lovely lady manager whose name escapes me could not do enough for you. It is so peaceful and yet close to amenities . The housekeeping is of a very high standard. Breakfast is simple but more than adequate. Everyone so friendly. We look forward to a return visit

I stay at this hotel quite often on business so am very familiar with it. The rooms are clean and quite and the staff is friendly and helpful. There are many good restaurants within walking distance.
The one downside is the quality/speed of the wifi. It would be fine for one night but it is extremely frustrating during my longer stays to not be able to accomplish internet related functions due to the slow speed.
