“Marriott Anaheim after National Championship of Irish Dancing”
Reviewed 9 July 2013

My family experienced this hotel last week with thousands of Irish Dancers from across the country and other countries. This hotel managed this event beautifully from beginning to end. It was well organized, clean, efficient all week. The staff was superior everywhere from checking in to valet parking to telephones. This hotel managed to make it fun to put up with the hectic dancing schedules as well as schedule us to trips to the Disney Parks with reduced rates, excellent transportation, making it as easy as possible for all the parents and grand parents that accompanied these dancers.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have the fireworks display, I believe there are fireworks every night

We stayed here for one night because we were going to Disneyland. But it is literally right next to the Convention Center. Probably would stay at another hotel that was a little closer to Disneyland since my fiancé likes to walk everywhere. The hotel was clean and they have a Starbucks located inside. There was a dance convention in town and it was busy. Our room was kind of small but had a refrigerator. We were on the 14th floor and had a peek a boo view of the theme park roller coaster. I would definitely recommend this hotel to someone who was there for a convention since you can walk and the hotel lobby and be there in 2 minutes. The self-parking was $24 and valet is $28.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms are quieter. For $4 more just pay for valet. Its a shorter walk to the room eleva...

Many of our guests walk to Disneyland from our hotel, so I'm surprised to hear that your fiancé wasn't one of them! However, I'm happy to hear that you had a pleasant stay with us and enjoyed our convenient access to Starbucks. Thanks for the recommendation.

We stayed here for a dance competition. The competition was in both the Hilton next door and the Marriott and it was really close by and easy to walk from one hotel to the other. Room was comfortable and clean. As usual with dance competitions we did not have much opportunity to leave the hotel, so we made good use of the Starbucks, Pizza Hut, and Marketplace store which were right by the ballrooms. The parking garage was also by the ballrooms which made it easy to keep things (like dance dresses and packs of water bottles) in the car without carrying them unnecessarily all the way to the room and back. The bar staff (next to the lobby) were very efficient and courteous.
We were on the 19th floor so elevator rides were long and tedious as they seemed to stop at every floor, particularly at peak times.
You need a parking pass (which they are supposed to give you when you check in) and they forgot to give me one. I also had problems leaving the parking lot late in the evening with a then-expired parking pass and had to call for an attendant to let me out. This is why 4 stars not 5. Great location. We got to watch the Disney fireworks every evening too :)

Room Tip: We were at a competition and the hotel was busy. We were on the top floor (19th) so elevator rides w...

Thanks for the wonderful review and feedback! We understand that the elevator rides to the upper floors are tough when we have a full house, and we really appreciate your patience. Hopefully the Disneyland fireworks show made up for it though! We hope to see you again on your next visit to Anaheim!

I think our room was on the worst floor (3rd). It was as if we were in the basement with a casement window, while other floors had balconies with sliding glass doors. The pool area did not order sufficient lounge chairs and the pool water was cold. Overall the hotel was clean and served its purpose. Great location if you were going to the convention center and about a 15 minute walk to Disney. We paid a group rate; would have been more disappointed if paid full rate.

We went there last year, and did not expect a lot from this place but ended up being amazing. It is pretty close from Disneyland, if you feel like walking, 15 minutes will be enough to be in the Disney Parks, the restaurants are good, the service is great, there are shuttles that run from the hotel to Disneyland, and from the area to a nice outlet shopping centre. The area is really good and offers different kinds of restaurants.

The door in the balcony had some trouble to open and close but we did not pay too much attention to it, and when we came back from Disneyland, we found a nice tray with popcorn, drinks, and lollies with an apology note about the door. The concierge was great and buying tickets to Disney was not an issue thanks to the Disney Desk. If I go back to Disneyland soon, I wont hesitate on booking again a nice room in this place.

We chose this hotel based on location (1 mile from maingate Disney) and price. We stayed for two nights. Upon arrival there is a large lobby with plenty of seating and friendly helpful door staff. The young lady that checked us in was delightful...friendly and kind. We had two rooms, both with a King bed. My son and his girlfriend's room had a lovely view of the pool area and palm trees. Ours was a corner room with a bit more space but a view of the roof top. It had a large balcony and was very quiet. The usual amenities adorned the room, coffee maker, mini bottles of decent shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lotion.

We ate two meals in the lounge and although the selection was limited the food and service was good. We also ate two breakfasts in the main restaurant. There is a large buffet but decided to go a'la carte. Meal portions are very large... preferring a smaller meal they were kind enough to allow an order of a single egg and toast. Very personal service, the waiter kept visiting and calling us his family. :) We didn't see many young children at this hotel but I'm sure that changes based on time of year/week.

The concierge desk in the hotel sells shuttle tickets to Disneyland ($5 per day per person) and all Disneyland passes.

I used the pool on our last morning there at 8am there was only myself and one other paddling around. The pool & deck were clean with lots of towels and deck chairs around. Lots of sunny and shady areas to sit and there's even a portion of the pool that's covered by a glass atrium.

The hotel had a nice amenity store with everything from books and souvenir's to jewelry and liquor.

I would happily stay here again if we go for another visit to Disneyland and California Adventure Park.

Room Tip: Despite not Having a view, our corner room was very quiet and large.

Our Future Business Leaders of America stayed at the Anaheim Marriott for the recent convention. I definitely took into consideration the fact that there was a hotel full of teenagers when writing this review. Our room was 362 and it looked out to a parking lot and cement wall. The opposite side rooms looked over the pool. This section of the building was 4 stories high. The room was standard and I was annoyed that we did not have a fan in the bathroom. Every day, we seemed to have problems with maid replenishing our coffee, cups, etc. One day, we waited until about 4:30 to call because maid service missed our room, even though we had been out at meetings all day and we were not the only ones skipped. I'm sure the hotel was extremely busy, as it was a Sunday and many people were checking out. I slept very well while there. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the noise level was low.

The pool area was very nice. There was part of the pool shaded with a roof, which was nice relief on a hot, sunny day. There was also a whirlpool. One day the pool was closed, which left a lot of people disappointed, but we had gone to Disney that day, so it didn't affect us at all. There is a restaurant and bar adjacent to the pool area. I did not eat while staying at the Marriott

The location was great. The Convention Center is adjacent, as well as the Hilton. We walked several blocks to California Adventure, Disneyland and Downtown Disney. One evening we walked to the Garden Walk for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. You can get to a lot of things, if you don't mind walking. One day we bought bus passes and went the outlets a few miles away.
