“Makes the Disney Experience complete!”
Reviewed 7 March 2012

We stayed at this hotel Dec 15-20, 2011. Having stayed at the Hojo on previous trips, I was prepared to be feel that we paid way too much for the whole "Disney" vibe. I was also a bit iffy after seeing some reviews here, although the majority were good.
Boy, was I happy to be mistaken. This is a gorgeous hotel, staffed by fantastic employees who all had a smile on their face. We didn't get in until 7 pm, and the clerk at check-in made a big deal of my daughter's birthday! Then, we rode up the elevator (remember, try to use the glass elevator near the lobby. It saved us a TON of time the whole trip!) to our fourth floor room. Everything was clean and looked neat and remodeled, even the cool hidden Mickey beach ball carpet in the halls.

The room was well-sized, with two queens and a sofa sleeper, and it was also clean and beautiful. Our view was out towards the pool, and even though it was a bit chilly, my daughter couldn't help but jump in one day. She loved the slide and the pool, and the lifeguards were friendly. They also have a great store near the restaurant downstairs.

Throughout the hotel, there are constant, discreet reminders that you are still on the Disney property, and though it is a little bit of a walk through Downtown Disney, we loved every minute of it! The walk was beautifully landscaped, and we often saw security nearby, ready to help anyone with a problem on the path. The entrance through Grand Californian was a bit of a jaunt, but sooo worth it to get into California Adventure quickly!

I can honestly say that we would love to stay at this hotel for every future Disney visit. Everything from the game room to the bar, the restaurant to the pool was fantastic. Thanks Disney, for making a truly "magical" trip!

We just returned from our mini vacation to Disneyland and we stayed at the Paradise Pier Hotel. What a great location, just minutes walking distance to downtown Disney. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We did arrive early so they held our luggage while we ate at the restaurant at the hotel and then proceeded to Disneyland. The only bummer during our stay was the pool was being renevated so we had to use the Diseyland Hotel's pool....so....more walking. The elevators are rather a nightmare in the morning as everyone has the same idea...get to Disneyland before anyone else does. We finally just started taking the stairs...much quicker. Very convenient, clean and friendly hotel. Would certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: Our room looked over the pool. It would have been fun to see the Disneyland side. Still a great, co...

I paid for an extra night just so that me and my family could check in early. I called to verify we would have a room and when we got there they sent us to a DIRTY room. Room service never cleaned it from the last guest. The only thing the front desk said was they would hold our stuff tell and we could go to breakfast. I have 2 small kids that wanted to nap before we went to the park. They magically found a new room only after i got really rude.VERY disappointed.paid for an extra day for NOTHING! Will never stay here again. O and did i mention i was told they had a great pool and slide we would get to use and when we got there it was under construction!!

The parking garage was small as was the lobby which did not lead to the best first impression, but it got much better after that.
The desk staff was super friendly and the room was huge with a beautiful view of California Adventure. Water pressure not the best and the elevators could get crowded, but the hotel was immaculately clean with great staff.
Would definitely stay here again in the future!

This was our second stay in this property, the first being a year ago. As in last time, we paid for an upgrade to a theme park view room.

We had a bit of a rough start with this reservation -- meaning the Disney agents made two errors in our room/ticket package. The first not adding enough park hopper tickets to the package and the second not adding in the concierge service requested. As in true Disney fashion, they more than made up for this by a HUGE upgrade to a one bedroom suite. What a nice surprise at check in. If your budget allows for a suite, go for it! The room is so spacious and has two very nicely appointed bathrooms. Also the refrigerator and microwave are ideal, as you could save some money by having light food in the room. The room had a lot of storage, more than enough for our family of 5, even for a longer stay.

I find the hotel to be in a good location -- the monorail is a short walk away. Also you're able to go thru the Grand Californian to enter the parks. The property is sparkling clean as in true Disney fashion. Yes, it does not have the *wow* factor of the Grand Californian, but it is up to date and still very nice.

The only real negatives I have to say about this place would be there isn't really any on-site cozy dining nooks/places. The lounge staff is excellent -- friendly and efficient, but atmosphere is lacking. PCH grill has the same feel for me. I guess after a day at the parks, a nice quieter, dimmed lighting retreat is what I look for. Someplace kid-friendly but also relaxing, if the two can go hand-in-hand:-) However this would not deter me from staying here again.

Overall another great stay. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend this hotel to our family/friends. For the money we find this to be a very good, clean, friendly close to the action property.

Room Tip: Would highly recommend a theme park view. Worth the $$.

I always wonder about onsite versus offsite hotels when planning a trip to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. Since Disney was offering an off season special I booked a night at the least expensive of the onsite hotels, Paradise Pier. We planned our trip to take advantage of Disney's "Magic Mornings," which allows onsite guests to enter the park one hour before the general public, even on the morning of the day you check in. The Magic Morning started at 9:00 a.m. and we arrived at the hotel at 8:00 a.m. What makes a hotel stay really nice is when they go beyond what you expect. We expected to store our luggage until the afternoon check in, but since a room was available they checked us in at 8:00 a.m.! The second unexpected pleasure was a complimentary upgrade to a park view room. The rooms have been recently refurbished and the appointments are first rate. The off season special also provided us with two "Fast Passes," for use anytime during our visit. These unexpected details make onsite worth the extra cost.

I was chucking about all of the comments about how slow the elevators are at the hotel until the first morning of our stay. A 30 minute wait!! I took the stairs down from the 6th floor.

But that's the only complaint I had about our two night stay at "The Pier". The staff was great - cheerful, acommodating, the rooms were very nice - quiet, comfortable beds, good towels, great view of CA Adventure, the location was superb - a short walk through the Grand Californian to the Disney Village area or the "secret entrance" for hotel patrons. We got the "winter rate" which made the value even better.

The breakfast buffet was too expensive ($24 for adults) for what we needed to get us going in the morning but the snack bar in the lobby sells a quick breakfast including Micky Waffles and oatmeal (my standard). The snack bar was also open until 12 midnight which was great for those of us staggering back to the hotel after a long day in the parks. Yogurt, bagels, juices, fruit, pastries, etc. for a nice before-bed snack.

The pool was closed for renovations during our stay but we were given the option of using the new pool facilities at the Disneyland Hotel to make up for it. With all there is to do in the parks we never made it to the pool. Maybe next time!

Would definately stay here again. Maybe they can do something about the elevators, but I doubt it.
