“Not bad for 3rd choice”

I have stayed at all 3 of the Disney owned hotels at Disneyland and while the Paradise Pier Hotel doesn't measure up to the character of the Disneyland Hotel or the Grand Californian, it is a perfectly acceptable option for a lesser price. If you have stayed at Walt Disney World resort hotels, the Paradise Pier Hotel would be closer to a deluxe category resort than a moderate. No free Magic Express service from the airport but you can take the Disneyland Shuttle from LAX or SNA for a fee.
The Cast Member who checked me in was knowledgeable and efficient, volunteering helpful information for my stay. When it was time to leave the front desk staff also checked me in for my flight and printed my boarding pass for me.
The Christmas tree in the lobby was decorated with colorful sea creatures, keeping with the seaside theme of the resort. In the evening the lobby area also had Dickens-era dressed carolers.
I was in room 318 which was on a corner and boasted a view of the Paradise Pier area of the California Adventure park. A good location: on the same floor as the pool, one floor up from the 24 hour fitness center, and close to the elevators. I had no problems with long waits for the elevator; definitely quicker than walking to the stairs which were located on the other end of the building. The décor is a beige and blue beach theme and the beach ball throw pillows must be a big hit because there was a notice in the room that if you choose to take one of these home with you, a $65 charge would be added to your room bill. The sink area was enclosed in the bathroom: I prefer the sink area separate so other room occupants can get ready while the bath area is utilized. The pillows were firmer than I would like but I was able to find a less poofy one in the closet along with some extra blankets. A nice touch was stationery and postcards in the desk drawer, something you don't see so much in hotels anymore.
The fitness center is on e 2nd floor, close to the elevators. It had 4 treadmills, 2 elipticals, a stairmaster, 3 or 4 other various machines, and two sets of weights. No lockers or showers and the restrooms are located outside of the gym in the hallway.
The pool area has a water slide, a hot tub, and a snack bar (I did not see this open when I was there but I did not put in a lot of pool time this trip). There is a beach themed restaurant and a gift shop. Access to the parks is a walkway through the Grand Californian and Downtown Disney. As a Disney resort guest you are eligible for such perks as package delivery to your resort when you make a purchase in a theme park, early park entry, and entry into California Adventure through the Grand Californian entrance.
The Paradise Pier Hotel wasn't originally built as a Disney Hotel but while it may fall short of the character of it's sister hotels at Disneyland, it is in no way lacking as a comfortable option.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was amazing, When we checked in the cast member Shay was so helpful and sweet. When she found out it was our first time she upgraded us for free to a park view room which was a nice surprise for us. When we walked into our room it was amazing, it had a strong Disney theme to it and had a great view of the park. We stayed in a room which had 2 queen beds and they were very comfortable. The kids loved that they had there own room key with their name on it. The gift shop that is in the lobby was very reasonable and the staff were just as helpful and wonderful to us. It is a bit of a walk through the Grand Californian Hotel to get to the parks entrance but it is worth it. If you want to eat at the PCH grill you need to make a reservation at least a day before you plan on eating there as you will be waiting in line for hours. The cast members were amazing and the overall experience was magical. We will definitely be back again.

Room Tip: Book for the PCH character breakfast a day in advance or you will be stuck in line for hours

Paradise Pier is located across the street from disney California adventure park! It's in a great location in terms of accessing the parks!

Staff were all VERY courteous.

They managed every special request we had. The rooms were average in size. Tub was huge! Shower pressure lacked. In room fridge was great. Cafe on first floor was convienient but a bit overpriced.

Lovely place, we would stay there again!

We have been going to Disneyland for over 30 years. Both my husband and I growing up and then taking our own kids every year. We have never stayed at a Disneyland hotel before ever so decided to give it a try.
Someone said it best when they said it's a Holiday Inn at Disney prices. That is a dead on statement.
We arrived at 10am. We got all checked in and were charged $15 a day for parking!!!! After paying thousands of dollars for our week stay I had to pay for parking on top of that! That is so insane I can't believe it. Disneyworld didn't even charge for parking when we went there so why do they here?
They didn't have a room available yet so we headed to the parks and they said they would text us when our room was ready. Another part I wasn't that crazy about is you have to walk down the street to the light, cross the street and go through The GCH to get to the parks. Yes it's right across the street but somehow it feels far to get there.
As soon as we go into The Magic Kingdom they called us to tell us a room was available so we headed back. We had parked our car in the parking and left all out stuff in the car but they do have a bag check room too.
We tried to get a baggage cart from out front when we got back but they wouldn't let us take one! They said they had to do it so we could just go drive our car back around and unload it. Umm, no. So we walked to the parking garage and thank goodness we parked on the ground level because there are no elevators in the parking garage.
We got all our stuff to the room and yes the elevators are really slow. The room was decorated very cute as you can see in the pictures but it did seem a little worn. Not bad or dirty though.
They have room service available for Breakfast and dinner but not lunch so we headed to the café. It's just a little café that has a coffee counter and a bar. Located pretty much in the lobby and across from the gift shop it's an open area where you can see everything and look around.
They didn't have a huge menu but the food was very good and at great prices too. We actually ate here a couple times and the staff was great. We also did the character breakfast one morning and although it was a little pricey and I didn't love the food we really did have a great time with our kids and the characters so it was worth it.
Overall I thought the room was nice enough but for the price I probably wouldn't stay here again when you could get the same thing for around $100 instead of over $300. And add on the parking that's just crazy.

The hotel was great. We were allowed to check in as soon as we arrived at 10am. The staff was very helpful and gave my daughter signed pictures of characters for her birthday. The room was nice for the eight hours we spent sleeping, that was the only time we were in the room. Housekeeping was great. The only problem was the elevators were very slow especially in the am when leaving for the park. Consider taking the stairs to save time since there are only three elevators for 14 floors. The character breakfast only had four characters, we were told Ariel's grotto in paradise pier features all the princess characters the breakfast food itself was not that great either. Do not take the disney express bus to and from the airport beside costing 28 bucks a head it's always late and didn't even show up at its scheduled time almost costing us our flight home. Consider using the disney express vans 15 bucks a head and there all around the airport terminals and you call when leaving your hotel so it's on your time and your not left wondering what's going on. The next kicker is the disney express bus picks up everyone from all three hotels then drops you off at disneyland hotel to have you transfer to a second bus to take you to the airport, and the bonus is you get to move all your bags again to the next bus fun time there lol. Consider any other form of transportation beside disneyland express bus.. Target from the hotel is 10 bucks each way to pick up food and other things you may need. Overall paradise pier was excellent and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to stay on site. One other tip make sure if your doing the ride swap pass (stroller pass) with small children who can't ride but your swapping with your spouse/girlfriend check the date on the pass cause a moron on the cars land ride wrote the wrong date and then made me out like I forged the pass or was lying.

We Stayed at this hotel in November of 2013. We arrived at the Paradise Pier Hotel at 3:00pm. We have Stayed at this Hotel a couple of times before, but we have mostly stayed at the Disneyland Hotel or Disney's Grand California Hotel. When We arrived you could tell that nothing new has been done since the lobby is the same from the last time we were here (2007/2008)
We got our room right away and went straight to our room after out flight and all the traffic coming from LAX. We did not immediately look to make sure that everything was good. When we came back from the Parks late at night, I opened up my covers to find Black hairs all over the sheets along with marks of something?
With it being now about 12:30am I slept in it any ways.
One of the people that I travelled with went down to the Front desk in the morning and asked for the manager. I was not there when this happened. When he returned he came back with a coupon for a Fastpass for a ride of our choice and A new room when we came back that night from the parks.
Upon returning from the Parks we got our new keys and got a new room with "Park View"
That was really nice.
Overall I would stay here again, the value is average but is the Best out of all the Disney properties. Disney should maybe invest in Renovating this Hotel.

Room Tip: If you've got the extra cash, when booking pay the extra for the Park view. California Adventure...

I stayed here Thanksgiving weekend with my husband and son. Our room was recently upgraded, very clean and everything in good working order. Our room was considered a "city view" but we had a nice view of Paradise Pier at California Adventure. We watched the World of Color from our room one evening. It's a short walk to Downtown Disney to catch the Monorail or to Grand Californian Hotel to enter California Adventure. Staff is very nice. The lobby was decorated for Christmas with a beautiful tree and Santa Claus was there in the mornings too. The character breakfast was cure with a beach theme. We have stayed at both the Disneyland Hotel and the Grand Californian before and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice our stay was at the Paradise Pier considering the difference in price.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with views of World of Color and/or the Fireworks.
