I wouldn't stay at any other Hotel if I go to Disneyland again. It is in the perfect position close to Downtown Disney and the Parks. The Hotel itself is wonderful, everything about it. We arrived early in the morning and they let us check in straight away and our rooms were ready. Big spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful everywhere you go. Disneyland itself was just amazing and we can not wait to come back and visit it again. It was just the best experience and we will stay in their Hotel without a doubt.

We were originally planned to stay at the Paradise Pier hotel but decided to "splurge" and instead spend our one night at Disneyland at their top-notch Grand Californian Hotel. However, upon arrival, we were greeted with the news that the hotel would be turning off our water for several hours during our one night stay. Not acceptable. The hallway also smelled of dirty diapers (yeah, we know, it's Disney) but still, that isn't what you would expect from their top of the line resort. The bathroom door was also broken and refused to lock.

Good things to note: The park is within a 5 minute walking distance from the hotel (Disneyland). There is a store/cafeteria on site to buy late night snacks. Their maids/turn down service providers were extremely helpful and kind.

We got an awesome deal with WestJet Vacations (Canadian Airline—thank you WestJet) and stayed at the Disneyland Grand California Hotel and Spa for six nights. Wow—what an spectacular hotel! The main lobby had a piano player and a large fireplace. There was also a place for little children to sit and watch a movie while the parents checked in. We were not traveling with children but that is a nice bonus. All the staff were cheerful, helpful and just really nice people. Our room overlooked California Adventure and we had a balcony to enjoy the California sunshine. Our room was spotless and the turn down service at night was a nice touch. The turn down staff would also take out used towels and empty the garbage—awesome! We bought a five day park hopper and were able to enjoy five early morning park entries instead of one because we were staying at a Disney Resort Hotel—remember to bring your room key to get this deal. The pool area was beautiful with three pools including a water slide and two hot pools. There was also a pool bar. I enjoyed a Fire and Ice Pedicure at the Mandara Spa which was a reasonable priced and very soothing on sore feet (thanks Sarah). The White Water Snacks Store was great for picking up fruit trays, juice, yogurt, pastries and cereal for breakfast the next morning as there is a fridge in your room—saves time in the morning. We also ate at the Storytellers Café and had a drink at the Hearthstone Lounge on the hotel site which were also really good. If you want to avoid the crowds to watch the “World of Color”, find out where the sixth floor balcony is. You use your room key to gain entrance and you can watch the half hour show from there. There is a heater for cooler nights and a speaker to enjoy the music. It was easy to get a taxi at the main entrance to go shopping or to a hockey or baseball game. What a fantastic place to have a vacation! A BIG THANK YOU to every staff member for making our holiday so memorable.

Room Tip: We had a room at the end of a hallway which was really quiet!

The best things about the Grand Californian is its location - right next to California Adventure, and the staff who are excellent. Unfortunately the hotel is showing its age and is not what you will expect for an absolute minimum of $300 per night (not counting taxes or parking, which added $70/night). The hotel is not "bad", but here is a list of the issues we had that made for a less than pleasant experience: 1) The TV system is antiquated and impossible to use. It is a hybrid analog and digital system, so ABC for example is channel 3-3 (try and figure that one out - NBC was 3-33 if I remember right). This is not documented anywhere. 2) Our refrigerator didn't work, 3) Our thermostat went out, 4) The sinks barely drained, 5) the water was out in the whole hotel 1 night, 6) the internet was very slow and hard to connect to, at least with an ipad. It eventually connected but I turned off wifi on my phone and used LTE as the wifi just was painfully slow.

For a AAA 4 diamond hotel we expected better! We won't stay there again and will likely try the newly renovated Disneyland hotel next time.

I really liked the location of this hotel you are literally attached to downtown Disney and Grand California Adventure park. The club level is nice and had okay options (chef needs to learn how to boil eggs though). The room are average and I expected more for the price. I would stay again although the staff was friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Club level room are the way to go. Breakfast and snacks though out the day. Can view the fireworks...

This hotel is fairly reasonable if you go off season. There were 4 of us and the room accommodated us beautifully. There was a bunk bed with a trundle and a queen bed. The bathroom was nice because the toilet/shower were separate from the double sink area. We had a park view and from our balcony we could actually see the fireworks (granted, through the trees) from Disneyland. The ease of access to the park was amazing. The staff made you feel like you were royalty. I will stay here again!

Room Tip: I do not remember the number of our room but we were right across from the Grizzly water ride. It w...

I would have given this 3 1/2 stars if I could have - the pool looked really nice so that and the location are great pluses for those visiting Disney. This is a Disney resort, designed for a family experience. I was there on business, however so I come from a different perspective. Would I come here with my husband for vacation? No. First let me say I love Arts and Crafts style architecture, and there are amazing details in the interior design. However the overall effect is to make the hotel seem extremely dark. You don't feel like you are in Cali. - it feels like the Adirondacks. The rooms are average except for the architectural details on the bed. My room was on the second floor which overlooked the lobby and the player piano so it was pretty noisy. If you want a quiet room, I suggest you specify that. There is only one restaurant that serves breakfast in the hotel. I had a meeting breakfast with a co-worker, but unfortunately that was during the "critter breakfast" and no less than 5 critters came to interact with us at our table during our meeting. So, for anyone who isn't on a family vacation, it might not be the best fit.

Room Tip: If you want a quite room, ask for one that does not face into the lobby.
