“It was nice.”
Reviewed 29 May 2013

We stayed here on our holiday to Disneyland.
We were in the Cassina suites room 1202 which happened to be on Katella Ave but also next to a set of stairs.
We couldn't hear the traffic and hardly heard the noises of other guests.
It was a quick 23 minute walk to Disneyland. A restaurant on the property as well as a few restaurants around.
The room was beautiful and romantic for the 2 of us. The shower took a while to heat up due to the boilers being at the back of the property so 5 minutes the water would run just for a bit of steam.
The tv variety was lovely and a hell of a lot more than what we have at home.
The breakfast was rather appauling actually.
We either got 2 eggs, 2 tiny pieces of bacon and some potatoes. Or we could have some fruit.
If you want Juice you must pay for it, it's not provided even for the $13 buffet breakfast.
Had to pay for wifi. $10 for 24 hours of usage. Even cheap hotels can afford to provide free wifi.
The hotel appears to be a boutique hotel but it's quite there yet.
Quite expensive because it's across the road from Disneyland. Need to get more for your dollar.

We are just finishing off a four night stay at the Anabella, and have really enjoyed our time! Walking distance to Disney, but can shuttle if your feet our tired. Nice pool for the family, when you need a break. To address some concerns noted by other reviewers...yes, the walls are thin. But we were usually too tired by the end of the day to let it bother us. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had no problems with long waits for our breakfast, but we usually ate between 6:45-7:45am. We all enjoyed the breakfast! We usually ate supper at nearby Coco's restaurant....good food, big portions, reasonable price. We rented a car for the last day, and found it to be in a central driving location. Would prefer free Wifi. All in all, a very good experience and would recommend it to others.

We prefer boutique hotels rather than large chains so chose the Anabella on a last minute decision to attend the Rolling Stones concert at the Honda Stadium. This property is nothing more than a Holliday Inn or Best Western in a motel configuration. The furnishings, bedding, towels, and amenities could not be cheaper. There is actually a sign in the bathroom informing you that all of the (sub par) linens are microchipped to discourage theft, suggesting the type of clientele it draws. The decor, fixtures, and finishes are dated and of poor quality. The air conditioner is a loud monstrosity. We had a view of the parking lot which, I believe, is standard for all rooms. Our flight did not leave until evening so we wanted a late check out to have some pool time. They charged us an additional $60 for a 3pm check out on a Monday.

We chose a boutique hotel with the hope of avoiding the children flocking to Disneyland. No such luck. Upon our arrival (at 6pm) the lobby was filled with luggage and screaming children, as was the pool. The only somewhat saving grace of the Anabella is the adult pool far-removed from the kid pool. It is extremely small, without attendants or service, and has blaring vintage music. I discovered that the excessive volume must be a failed attempt to cover the sound of the adjacent roadway. But, at least there were no children here.

The Honda Center is over 2 miles and we were hesitant to walk for a late night concert. Neither the concierge or other staff could seem to advise us on the best transport option. No one had a clue. We chose to drive and park rather than take a cab and that worked out fine, though parking was $20 cash only, that would have been helpful to know.

Room Tip: Don't be fooled by the "boutique" reference, this is not a boutique hotel and has no c...

We appreciate you taking the opportunity to stay with us. It is our goal to provide every guest with a unique setting and full service accommodations indicative of a Boutique Hotel. Countless hours have been put in to make the Anabella Hotel the most aesthetically pleasing property in Anaheim. Please accept our apologies for not meeting your expectations.

I will make this brief:

1. I realize, that to a certain extent, walls at most hotels are thin. However, this was crazy! The walls at this hotel were so paperthin that I could hear our neighbors both upstairs and next door, far too well. We did not get a good night’s sleep as a result and we were tired the next day at the park.
2. My fiancé and I have 5 teenage daughters between us. Two 18 year olds, 17, 16 and 14. As such, we didn’t mind the fact that the hotel was further away than a lot of the other choices. We figured if the kids opted to go back to the hotel during the day, it was still within walking distance and all would be fine. FALSE!! We had to leave the park not once, but twice (two different groups) because they walked the wrong way. This hotel is too far off the beaten path and very inconvenient. My child, who left the park alone, ultimately was over one mile away in the wrong direction.
3. I don’t believe there is a complimentary breakfast, although I could be wrong. I’m fine with that if the food I pay for is quality. I read that their restaurant was award winning, so of course I was excited to go. However, the restaurant should be embarrassed to serve the food they do. Worse than that, the waiter was extremely rude. Bad service all the way around.
4. I believe they charge for Wi-Fi, as a result, we didn’t purchase it. This simply could be that other hotels are starting to do the same thing, not sure.

In summary, save your money! There are far better choices with hotels that are located much closer to the park!

Dear Michelle C,

The comments you’ve shared with other Trip Advisor Travelers are very concerning to us. A good night’s rest is a bare minimum request. Please except my apologies for not providing you anything but exemplary service and sleep quality. Typically we receive high marks in these areas.

I completely relate to your frustration in regards to getting turned around during your families walk to or from the park. We always try and provide maps and directions as best as possible. We are about a 10-15 minute walk to the main gates of both parks but the Anaheim Resort Transit is always available as an alternative to walking. These shuttles run every 20 minutes for a nominal fee.

Michelle C, I cannot take back your previous experience but would like the opportunity to regain your loyalty. Please let me know the best way to communicate with you to do so.

Kind Regards,
Brandon Jemison

A lovely hotel just across the road from Disney, nice big open fire, and the rooms were very clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly, my only problem was, we stayed in a ground floor apartment, I don't think the upstairs was carpeted because there was constant loud footsteps. The attached restaurant was the Tangerine, Roberta was lovely and took great care of us after we came back from a long enjoyable but tiring day at Disney, she hand delivered pizza and a cork screw to our room and it was excellent, well done Roberts, thanks for everything, she was like a mother hen.

Room Tip: Stay in a second floor room.

We stayed at The Anabella in March 2013 for 2 nights to go to the Disneyland parks with our nieces for a couple days. The lobby staff is friendly and helpful. For the price if you get a good deal, it's a fair place to stay.

Pros: Great location, across the street from the Disney properties, we walked (about 15 minutes) into Downtown Disney and the parks each day. It was rather perfect during the cooler weather. They also have a restaurant on the property, The Tangerine. We had breakfast there one morning and it was average but service was good. The tangerine juice is pretty good too. They also have a pool. I also really like the soap and shampoo provided in the rooms.

Average: The room was a bit worn and dated. We had loose handles on the faucet in the bathroom, it was showing some wear and tear. The bed was OK and the room was pretty small. The one we got was the full queen but we were only there to sleep so it didn't matter too much.

One thing I noticed was that the parking lot is full during the day because they let park visitors park there for $15 dollar a day. Late at night spots open up. The staff also didn't do up our room the first day and had to request it at the front desk, probably just an oversight.

Since Downtown Disney is so close, we just ate breakfast at one of the other places there. There's also Jamba Juice, Wetzel's Pretzels, and a few restaurants as well so there's plenty of places to grab food mid day and evening. A few places are open in the AM on the way in to the park. Also there's places out on the public streets on the way in plenty of places.

Room Tip: I heard the suites with multiple rooms are updated and better than the average rooms.
