We stayed here for 2 nights, it was an easy 10 minute walk to Disney or their free shuttle ran every 30 minutes. The room was nice and clean, the free breakfast was great, ate out by the pool. The staff was very friendly and they held our luggage all day while we went to Disneyland. The atmosphere was nice and great decor.

We chose the Candy Cane Inn based on reviews from this site. Great choice! The motel is dated, but our room was clean. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Location was great, only a 7 minute walk to the Disneyland entrance. Breakfast was good for a continental breakfast, plenty to choose from. Parking lot had very narrow spots making it difficult to get in and out of car.

There's a good reason this hotel is rated #1 on TripAdvisor. Here's just a few I noted during my stay 4 day stay:
1) The backside of the hotel is LITERALLY the backside of Radiator Springs.

2) Breakfast includes REAL hard boiled eggs and cubes of cheese. My gluten free friend could eat there every morning (most places use egg substitutes to make scrambled eggs). The fruit was also not only in great abundance, but were perfectly ripe. There were even unhealthy options like donuts. And to top it off you can eat in the lovely pool area with family friendly music playing.

3) there is a free shuttle to and from Disneyland every 30 minutes, but if you don't want to wait it's an easy 5-10 minute walk (depending on your speed).

4) The towels are thick and they're happy to give you new ones everyday. I know it's a small thing, but when you get used to the good stuff at home it's a nice surprise to have it when you travel.

5) Even though we booked online they're happy to take your call and add any room requests to make your stay that much more perfect. In fact, I highly recommend you call. The staff is very friendly and if you tell them what kind of stay you're looking to have, they will find the perfect room for you. We told them we're traveling without kids and looking for the ultimate Disney experience. As a result they placed us far from the pool (therefore quieter), upstairs (for more quiet), toward the back, but not so far that you won't see the backside of Radiator Springs mountains when you walk out your door, not to mention the best view of the fireworks that this hotel can offer. Perfect.

One downside to Candy Cane Inn is the parking. I recommend bringing only 1 vehicle, arriving early or during the week, and leaving your car in the parking lot during your entire stay. We lucked out arriving on a Thursday night and had our pick of spaces, but come the weekend the lot was overflowing. We went out to eat in Long Beach one night during our stay and had the worst time finding a spot to park in (not helped by those who park crooked or on the line).

Also, upon checkout we received a coupon for 10% off our entire next stay good for a year. Nice touch to encourage return business. Overall I'd happily stay here again and highly recommend it to everyone.

Room Tip: Call ahead even if you booked online or through your travel agency and tell them what kind of experi...

We stayed at the Candy Cane Inn a few years ago and it was a great experience. We arrived a bit too early to check in but the staff gave us our parking pass so we could rest in the van while we waited for our room. We loved the location - it's perfect for even a little one to walk over to the park - however the shuttle was great for when we were tired. The free breakfast was simple (bagels, muffins, cereal) and the kids loved the hot chocolate. It was enough to tide them over until we got to the park so that was a nice perk. We experienced a problem with our toilet one day however the staff took care of it quickly. All in all, we look forward to another trip to the area and we'll continue to book at Candy Cane Inn!

Room Tip: The second floor rooms are walk-ups only but tend to be a little quieter as you aren't right nex...

Stayed here for the last 2 nights (Sat/Sun President's Day weekend) with my family (2 adults, 2 kids ages 10 and 7) and here is the summary of our experience:

Pros:
- Good Location. Walked each day to Disney and back in 15mins.
- Free Parking. Note however if you arrive before the check-out time of 11am then there may not be an open spot for you until others check-out. If this happens, then you're on your own!
- Free Breakfast. Definitely not the best, but good enough to get you started without having to go out looking for something. If you get there during "rush hour" (7:30am-8:30am) expect not to get a table. Menu includes cereals (3 kinds), coffee/tea, bagels/cream cheese, muffins, donuts, boiled eggs, bread, yogurts, bananas/apples, peanut butter, jelly, honey, cheese cubes, orange juice, apple juice, hot chocolate. Always had enough, so that's a good thing!
- Free Shuttle. Runs every 30mins, half past and top of hour from hotel to park and every quarter past and quarter to from park to hotel. If you're willing to wait, then its good. Otherwise walking will get you there at/about the same time.

Cons:
- Our room, 129, had no hot water the first night when we came back from the park. Engineer said that since too many people apparently showered, the hot water had run out. Nothing they could do, except wait for the boiler to heat the water again i.e. wait and try again in the morning. When we raised this with the manager in the morning, his response was more "interrogative" (what, why, when, etc) vs. "apologetic" and he said he would need to "investigate" before he does anything. This almost added insult to injury....definitely not the sort of reaction we expected from a manager! Btw, hot water was fine in the morning and on the second night.
- Our room was connected to another (connecting door in between) and that room had a baby in it that woke up very early one morning (truly feel for the parents who were trying to comfort the baby) but the noise definitely travelled through the door which woke us all up. TIP: Ask for rooms that are not adjoined and possibly.

Did not use their pool (seemed like no one was using it!) or any other amenities. Hotel was full during the weekend and most people use it primarily to sleep, shower, bfast and then spend the whole day at the park.

Overall, the Candy Cane is good as a basic hotel close to the park. And generally for the price, you can't really ask for more.

First and foremost I am sincerely sorry that you experienced a shortage of hot water as we have multiple boilers throughout the property and rarely an issue. In Anaheim we do have a high level of calcium and this can cause havoc as a piece will lodge itself in the cartridge of the valve and we must replace. I have discussed your concerns with our management team to ensure we provide caring and concern. Kind regards.

After reading all these reviews, decided to give them a try. Only $5 more per night then Camelot, our other choice. Well worth it. Everything was great.... rooms, soundproofing, breakfast, pools, bus, personnel, grounds, location. I will be back every single time I go to Disneyland.

Immaculate comfortable rooms with free frig, parking, and wifi with a substantial continental breakfast. Location is superb for people who want to come and go to the parks with little effort. Ten minute walk (really) to inside the park is sometimes quicker than the every 30 minute shuttle that does save steps. This is no resort. Clean cute pool and spa. Friendly staff. Best property for "park people."
