“The Best Disneyland Area Hotel for a Family with Children”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 March 2011

I have stayed at this Hotel Several times and believe it is the best value in the resort area. The Hotel is always clean, the pool and Hot tub are big, and the food at the restaurant has great food.
But I think what makes this the best value is the restaurant. As a single father it is hard to afford a good meal on a budget. Some of the other Hotels offer free breakfast....but at this Hotel the kids eat free for breakfast and dinner. It is a full service restaurant which is easy to keep the young ones close.
I plan to go go back to the Hotel in the future.

I couldn't have asked for a better location on a recent business trip to Southern California. The room rate was great, the hotel is located right off of I-5, the staff was tremendously friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean. It is also a 15 miniute walk to a number of nice restaurants, like PF Changs and McCormicks & Schmicks. I would definitely recomend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay in this area.

It's an OK hotel, very close to a freeway. Convenient if you are driving. Very basic, no bells and whistles.

This Holiday Inn is a outstanding facility with people who go out of their way to help out! One of our group got carsick on a day excursion and went looking for some medicine in the gift shop but they did not have any. The lady went out and got some that night so we could have it for the next day! Great Service!

We rented a Jungle Kids suite that provided an Xbox for my son during our rest periods from the amusement parks. A great idea. It provided a rest for my wife and I.
The room was large enough for the 3 of us to live comfortably for the 10 days of our stay.
Some traffic noise from the nearby freeway was noticeable from our room but it was not a burden. Rooms were cleaned and maintained to a high standard especially considering the child market that this room is aimed at.
Staff were all friendly and helpful.
We ate the downstairs restaurant most nights and the food and service were of a good quality. One night was rather disorganised when there was an obvious staff shortage but overall an enjoyable place to eat.
Perhaps the only drawback of the hotel is the distance to shops/restaurants etc. Walking anywhere is a task for the very fit. The hotel is serviced by the ART (Anaheim Resort Transport) on a 20 min basis but this usually requires a trip to the Disneyland hub to transfer to another route (adding up to another 20 min each way to the journey).
Overall a pleasant and economical place to stay that is reasonably close to Disneyland.

Pros - awesome walk-in shower. Great bed. Lots of power receptacles for my laptop, charger, and CPAP. Nice, comfy chair. :) Great cable channels and nice roomy room. Ridiculously friendly staff everywhere - no exceptions. Easy to use free wireless.

Con - no ice machine on my floor, but not a big deal. No free airport shuttle service to SNA.

Overall this was a great stay, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I've never been to an Intercontinental chain hotel feeling being tricked. As a platinum priority club member, I was given two breakfast buffet coupon. However, I was never told I could only use one per day. I have two persons, so of course I had to pay for one breakfast buffet. It is obvious the hotel is trying to trick the customers to have breakfast at the hotel. I was stunned I even experienced this kind of thing at a Intercontinental chain hotel.

On the day of departure, experienced another surprise. There was no business center. Want to print the boarding pass, pay some dollars for 15 minutes to use their computers and pay another $1 for each page to print.

Wife also strongly dislike the hotel due to the above experience. She stayed at Crowne Plaza Anaheim/Garden Grove close by last August and had a much better experience, being adequately treated as a priority club member.

Couldn't believe they even treated their most loyal customers this way. I will never come back to this hotel.
