We stayed for two nights to visit Disneyland. And we were happy enough to have stayed here. The price was right (compared to the alternatives), the transfer bus to the theme parks was convenient, and the room was fairly comfortable - albeit the bathroom in particular was pretty dated. Breakfast was average - despite the cheery charm of the chef the choice was very limited. But we had nice pancakes, so four stars it is.

Two of my friends just came back from Anaheim and the Ayres Hotel came greatly recommended. I booked my reservations for 3 rooms because this was our first family vaction since my son's return back from Afghanistan and I wanted to make sure everything went well. We arrived at the hotel and to our dismay, our first impression was of the night manager being rude and short with our whole party. He made some comments about walking lightly because the floors are made of wood and that the restrooms were for guests only....hellooooo we were paying for 3 rooms for 4 nights. The redeeming quality to this hotel was the breakfast cook, he was friendly, and personable....the night manager could have taken tips from the cook! Our overall experience with our rooms, the cleanliness of the hotel and the little things they offered their guest were great!

From the moment we checked in, our stay at Ayres Hotel Anaheim was perfect. The hotel & rooms are absolutely beautiful. We found it to be a great value. The staff at Ayres is the most helpful & genuine of any staff we have encountered at a hotel, & that includes Disney hotels we have stayed at. Particularly, Derrick, Andrew & Jason at the front desk, along with another front desk clerk, whose name we didn't get, but drove us in the Ayres van to a local rental car establishment when we didn't have a way to get there. Paulo is another employee who seemed like he was busy constantly, just dong whatever needed to be done. Also, Jose, the cook at the Free full American breakfast, was so cheerful & pleasant in the morning, you always looked forward to seeing him. Another surprise at this hotel is the Social Hour every Mon.-Thurs from 5:30-6:30....Free wine & beer are served, along with chips, salsa, guacamole & fresh baked cookies. Everyone made you feel welcome each day.....they were so friendly. The rooms were large, well appointed & very clean. The only minor issue we had was the housekeeping staff removed the room key from the power source in the room which keeps the a/c going while you're out. So when we returned to the room that day it was much too hot. Just had to mention it to the front desk & it never happened again. Public areas & hallways are very clean & beautifully decorated. The location is a quick 10 minute walk to Angels Stadium, which made it a breeze to take in a game while we were there. We also purchased our ART bus passes from the front desk, which were very affordable, so we could go back & forth to Disnelyand while we were there. (unlimited rides for one price each day...I believe it was $5 a day per person) It was only a 15 minute ride door to door & it came every half hour....very convenient & buses were never crowded. During our stay we kept saying that we wished Ayres had hotels in other parts of the country instead of only in Southern California. We will definitely stay there again if we return to Anaheim. Can't say enough about this wonderful hotel & staff!!

Our family stay could not have been any nicer, this hotel went above and beyound in all areas. From customer service to Jose the chef/cook what an awesome bunch. Our grandchildren didn't want to go home. Marcus you were the best, the smiles you put on our grandchildren were priceless. We will definitely be back and well highly recommend to family and friends.

We stayed late July for a few days. Reception staff on the whole friendly (one a little brusque), room exceptional. A problem with the lavatory was quickly fixed. Good size, comfortable seating area in the room, fridge (really useful as a constant supply of fluids were needed to combat 87 degree heat). Breakfast was a fairly manic experience - lots of families desperate to eat a huge variety of food which was abandoned quickly. Staff coped well! Baseball stadium close by - Anaheim Angels fans know this but only five minutes walk to the stadium. Visitors note - do not cross the road on the way to the stadium unless at a traffic light. The police were overly officious, shouting at pedestrians who were in family units (and the road at those points was quiet as you could see traffic lights at red much further up the road). The path on one side ended suddenly causing problems on one side! Ideal location to drive to Disneyland, although in July there were a number of long-term road works which made travel difficult. No-one could follow the traffic diversions easily - poorly displayed. Happy hour confused us as they had no bar - but kindly the hotel laid out free drink for residents (wine/juice/canned beer) with nibbles each day in reception. Overall the hotel was a sound choice for us. They do offer a shuttle bus to Disney if you do not wish to drive there - fee applies. Note: parking at Disney costs nearly 18 dollar a day.

Room Tip: Go to web and check rooms online - we had a deluxe non-smoking and it was gorgeous

This hotel was our base for 3 days at Disney. The hotel is beautiful and the room followed suit. The beds were firm and comfortable. The rooms were clean and well appointed. Everything was in good repair. The pool is small but quite nice as is the workout room. The free wifi appeared to be strong everywhere. You do have to login every 24 hours. The included breakfast has a continental portion and a hot portion. The hot portion has limited choices that change daily but done by a friendly and accommodating chef. Their is no on-site lunch or dinner but plenty of choices nearby. The shuttle to Disney is every half hour and is a small additional cost but be sure to check the schedule ahead of time to minimize the wait. I would highly recommend this hotel.

My family and I just recently spent 9 nights at the Ayers Hotel in Anaheim. Check in was very easy, however after getting to our room we found that the air conditioner in the room was not working properly. A call to the front desk and several minutes later a maintenance man was in our room trying to fix it. He made some adjustments but it was still not working properly. A visit to the front desk and the staff on duty were kind enough to change our room. Problem solved and I thought great customer service all around. The hotel room was spacious and suited our family's needs. The breakfast in the morning was above average and the cook Jose was always very pleasant and accommodating. We had a great stay and will absolutely recommend and or return to the Ayers Hotel.
