I flew to LA with my son to visit colleges. We left very late on Thursday night, then drove to Anaheim and stayed at the Ayres Hotel. I was pleasantly surprised! It was easy to find, easy to park, the room was spacious, there was free internet. Breakfast is included and was quite nice. The staff were friendly, and went out of their way to be helpful. When we arrived at 1 am, the person working at the desk was very nice, and helped me print the parking pass and information I needed to visit Chapman University (which is 10 minutes at most from the hotel). If you are visiting Anaheim for any reason this is a very good choice for a place to stay, and it is close to many other attractions which we did not have time to visit! I travel a lot for work, and this hotel was nicer than many large chains. There was even a small kitchenette with of course a coffee maker.

We booked this property after researching it here on Trip Advisor and the high rating from others is accurate and deserved. Having stayed several times at the Homewood Suites to 'do Disneyland' we decided to try somewhere different.

Very easy to find on Katella Ave just next to the 57 freeway, but no traffic noise, and it is a straight run on Katella to Disneyland. One tip - we decided not to use the ART shuttle (would have been $9 for the three of us) and opted to drive and park at Disney instead. Parking there is more expensive at $15 but the ART shuttle only runs ONCE per hour so a lot of time would be wasted waiting for it, and missing rides at disney to be back at the shuttle area. Disney do allow in and out privileges for the parking.

Check-in around 8.30 pm was a breeze - unlike most off-hand and uninterested staff we had a gentleman who couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming.

The room was very comfortable - nicely decorated, everything worked. Internet was free and fast.

Breakfast was a cut above most US hotel chains - complimentary and good selection of cereals etc, and they would even cook pancakes/omelettes etc to order.

We would definitely stay here again.

The service at Ayres was fantastic! From the moment we checked in to the moment we left these guys were great! Even when we asked where to shop we were pointed in the right direction! Nothing was a problem.

The rooms were clean, quiet & very comfortable.

After huge days at Disneyland it was like coming home and the staff at the front office were always their to greet you with a smile!

We would be more then happy to stay at Ayres again.

We went in late August with our children as we wanted a top-class hotel to stay in whilst we visited the Disney parks. The hotel was very impressive and totally lived up to our expectations. All the staff were very friendly, the room was clean and very comortable and we couldn't have asked for more. The warm cookies on arrival were a bonus!!!
I would highly recommend Ayres and would definitely stay here again.

There is a reason this hotel was rated this well. I'm a Disney veteran and have stayed at many other "luxury" hotels in this area and have been less than happy, so when I saw all the good reviews for this place I couldn't believe it, as the price wasn't exorbitant. But everyone was right! This place lives up to its reputation. The rooms are quite large -- plenty of room for our suitcases. There is a desk and another little table with chairs. The bathroom was fine because the sink was outside of the rest of the bathroom. The woman at the breakfast area was very friendly and went out of her way with service. The front desk people were very nice too. It was fine that it wasn't that close to Disney because if one knows the roads (ask before you leave if you don't), you can get to the Disney parking structure pretty quickly. I like that it was right off the 57 freeway so easy to access too! Our room was quiet and I don't remember hearing any outside noise. Will stay here again next time!

The rate for the Ayres Hotel was lower than the normal cost so we decided to try out the Ayres because of the good reviews. My stay was satisfactory.

When we first checked in, it was very late at night. The front desk man was standing outside and saw us driving into the parking lot. However, he frightened us in a way. The lobby was very dark since the lights were not on at all. In fact, the only light on was the hallway which barely shined through the lobby and his desk lamp on his desk. When we went back to get our luggage, we saw him just standing in the middle of the hallway and just looked at us as we were walking to our rooms. This was one of the reasons why I would have dropped the service to a lower grade, but the lady behind the breakfast counter and housekeeping made up for it.

The rooms are fine. It was not so small and not so big, but it was satisfactory. The beds were very comfortable. There was also a pretty nice lounge chair and a decently sized TV. I disliked the green carpet in the bedroom because it made the room look darker and a little bit dirty. The bathroom was pretty small as it only consisted of a shower/tub and toilet in a small room, but the sink was outside of the bathroom which was fine. Overall, the room was pretty decent.

Overall, I thought that my stay at the Ayres was satisfactory. The location of the hotel is fine, but it's a little further away from restaurants and Disney. All the rates include breakfast, which was actually pretty good (eggs, sausages, potatoes, etc.), and internet which was somewhat slow. Parking was free too. For the rate we paid and everything we got, I thought it was a very good value in Anaheim.

I agree with everything positive said about this place, I could wax lyrical for pages!! The location literally just off the freeway next to a ramp was a bit of a surprise but we never noticed any noise even in rush hour. Ten mins from Disney, half an hour from LAX outside rush hour, parking, internet & breakfast included, a fantastic rate anyway but even better as we stayed for a week. What more could we ask.

On check in we were offered a choice of rooms but they recommended facing the freeway on the top floor to be above the noise and so we could see the nightly fireworks at Disney (something you pay a lot extra for in some hotels). We would also be front row for the Angels fireworks as there was a home game during our stay and they let them off on ground just the other side of the freeway. Sorry Disney, the Angels won that contest that night if not the game!!

Our room was large, love the sink outside the bathroom, made sharing a bathroom between four of us bearable and the beds were incredibly comfortable. One gripe on check-in was that the storage in the room wasn't great for a family sharing for a week, but this was miraculously improved on our third day as the hotel were upgrading their armoires to provide more & bigger drawers. We didn't even have to empty out our stuff, this was done for us. And the only reason I marked down sleep quality is that it took us several night to set the air conditioning so it wouldn't either shut off & roast us or freeze us, but that's just amateur Brits not being used to air conditioners!! At least they were quiet.

The staff were amazing from housekeeping to the chef who cooked my girls pancakes in the shape of Mickey Mouse each morning, to the manager who regularly showed up during breakfast to check everything was okay. I'd agree with a previous reviewer about the coffee at breakfast though, not great!

Lastly, as the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, the front desk recommended both the restaurant next door which we tried first night and enjoyed, and a complex a few blocks down the road (sadly just too far to walk) where we found the Lazy Dog Cafe, which was amazing. Staff remembered us the 2nd night we went there, good food, kid friendly, decent prices & great service even on an insanely busy Friday night!

We were in Anaheim to 'do Disney' and visit family in the LA area. We deliberately chose a hotel a little way away from Disney as it's a bit of a zoo near the gates & wanted a good base to retire to at the end of the day AND that was within easy reach of the freeway network to get across town and the Ayres Anaheim did just that. We absolutely loved loved loved this place.
