I loved the uniqueness of this hotel and the staff were amazing! The Azteca Restaurant attached to it had the best food and also very friendly staff, it made my stay in Anaheim very enjoyable.

Hotel Peppertree is a great place to stay. The staff are friendly, professional and extremely helpful to make sure that your stay is as pleasant as possible. I will be staying there again when I next travel to Orange County. It would have been just that bit better if there were safes in the room, but that would be my only comment. The room we had was a studio apartment type with built in robes. The bed was comfy and the small patio had a wonderful feeling to it.

Although it isn't in the best part of town, and further from Disneyland than I would like -
I would ABSOLUTELY stay there again! You WILL NOT find a all around nice hotel like this for a cheaper price.

The staff had no problem with our early check in request (we needed to put the baby down for a nap in between Disneyland visits), and tried to find us a very quiet room, which they did. The room was spacious and included a kitchenette, which I didn't expect! The dressing area was quite large with a big closet and separate lavatory and shower. The beds were comfortable as well.

The cable TV was not great, and that is my only complaint.

Another thing we liked was the complimentary wine we received at the restaurant that night. We figured since we had 2 free glasses of wine coming, why not eat dinner there (which is their goal, I am sure) and we were SO glad we did! Azteca served very good Mexican food, which we felt was pretty authentic. We particularly enjoyed the ceviche de camarones tostada.

Lastly, there was a free continental breakfast which was just fine, and it was served in the restaurant, so if you wanted to order breakfast, you could. We didn't as we were still full from the night before!

Give this privately owned hotel your business. You won't be disappointed.

We booked here based on the reviews we had read at this website and we were not disappointed. The staff were helpful and polite, the rooms were a good size, quiet (we were on the reverse side of the building away from the main road on the second floor) and well equipped. They were kept very clean and are wonderfully quaint and individual.. Certainly glad to get away from the bustle of the downtown Disney area. The pool whilst not big was great for all of us to jump into at the end (or beginning) of a hot day out. Breakfast at the restuarant was sufficient (and included) to keep us going through the day. It was also good to have the option to prepare our own food in the kitchenette in our room.

One thing to keep in mind is that you need a car to get to Disney from this hotel as it is about three miles from the main gate (we know, we walked it!!) You can get a transit bus to and from the parks from directly outside the Hotel (you need to change once) which costs $5.00 per day per person and is good to ride the transit system all day and this will get you to the park in about 30 minutes, but after 8.00pm the return could take you longer as the service is reduced and often times you have to wait 10-15 minutes for the bus transfer. Taxi will cost you about $17.00 each way (although on one occasion we did get stiffed for $27.00!!).

To make this hotel the perfect Disney stop I would really, really, really recommend the owner look into getting a shuttle bus/van which would make life so much easier for those of us who chose to fly in and not hire a car (also enviromentally friendly as only one vehicle needed as opposed to dozens of cars going to and from the park).

We will happily return here on any future trips to Anaheim

I stayed here twice with my fiance over the summer. We decided to try it out after reading the good reviews, and figuring out that even though we would have to pay the $12 parking for Disneyland, the total price would STILL be cheaper than staying in another hotel within walking distance of the park. And it worked out really well! The staff at the front desk give you a map with directions to Disneyland from the hotel. It took us a couple times to get it right, but once we did, they turned out to be great directions--they take you right to the parking structure. The drive is ten minutes or so, maybe even less. On the way is a big Target, useful for things like food and sunscreen.

The hotel itself is pretty neat. It definitely shows some age, but not really in a bad way. The lobby is inviting, with a gas fireplace. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms were pretty neat. I felt like I was staying in someone's home in the Mediterranean. The carpet shows a little wear, but it's not that bad. They keep the place clean, it never felt dirty. The beds were super comfortable, we actually came back in the middle of the day for naps. There is also a couch in front of the TV, which was nice to have. My favorite part was the kitchenette! A full size fridge and freezer, stove, microwave, sink and dishes meant we got to buy food at the store to save money. It was great! We ate breakfast in our room, which was nice and relaxing, and we had some wine when we got back in the evening :). The mexican tile in the kitchen area is very pretty. The room (king studio) was very spacious, we felt very comfortable. If I were to stay here again, I would probably choose the ground floor. We stayed on the second floor the first time, and there was more noise; kids were running up and down the halls late at night and early in the morning. Downstairs the sound is more muffled, the floor doesn't bounce, and also, the hallway doesn't run the length of the bulding because of the lobby in the middle, so it's less tempting, I think, for kids to run up and down. Also, I think the front side of the bulding is quieter. The back side gets noise from what I think was a parking lot in the back--folks came in real late and were very noisy. One more plus for downstairs, you get a nice private little patio with a fountain, I think it helped block the small amount of traffic noise we could hear.

I gave 4 out of 5 for location just because you're really more in the city, it's a little rougher around the edges than the Disney areas, but it's not bad at all. It's very convenient to Disenyland.

We would definitely stay here again! A nice soothing escape after the crowds at Disneyland!

The Hotel Pepper Tree is off the beaten path, but close to anything we need. There's a grocery store across the street (great since these are kitchenette rooms), a restaurant on-site, freeway, gas, businesses a few blocks away. Quiet rooms, charming decor, friendly staff. We love to stay here!
