“Great views of Disneyland Fireworks”
Reviewed 7 May 2012

I travelled with my husband and daughter and stayed 4 nights here recently. The hotel seemed a little dated but the rooms were spacious and clean. All the staff were very friendly. The hotel has a reputation as the party hotel and I probably wouldn't recommend it for families due to this as the pool was open quite late with a lot of noise. This coupled with the freeway noise my husband found it difficult to sleep. The hotel is about 15-20 mins walk to Disneyland. The only real issue I had was with the iron in the room it was a shocker!

We had made a family trip six years ago to this property when it was a Holiday Inn. The remodel was well done and is definitely more up to date. We stayed as a family of four along with a Grandma and Grandpa in two rooms for 6 nights. The front desk was able to get us rooms right next to each other though not 'joined'. The bell boys were very helpful and nice. The front desk folks ranged from average to very helpful and friendly but certainly no complaints. The room we had was average with a king and sofa fold out. Probably a little small for a family of four but this was to be expected with any hotel as we don't have the budget for a suite. The only thing that I would consider 'below average' was the lack of closet, drawer, storage space. The room and property are very clean and the grounds and pool are well kept. The restaurant has very good food (I'm easily pleased) with a good selection and reasonably priced. Most of the meals we had were < $10 a piece and kids ate breakfast for free with a paying adult. The restaurant staff was about the same as the front desk staff... average to very helpful and friendly. The walk to Disneyland could be made by an average person by themselves in under 10 minutes. But with a family with a 4 and 5 year old and pushing them in strollers it took between 15 and 20 minutes. So we bought day passes for the shuttle ($4 for adults and $1 for kids per day with unlimited back and forth and going every 20 minutes or so) for each of the remaining days on our 3 day park hoppers. Our room was cleaned and organized each morning after housekeeping came. Very consistent. The only complaint that we had was that on the night before we left there was some type of formal party for college age kids. They were rowdy and loud as we were leaving for dinner and when we came back our fears were realized... they were still there and it seemed some of them would be guests for the night. So needless to say the loudness etc. carried on in to the night. We called the front desk to let them know we could hear the yelling etc. and it seemed to subside a bit but there was still noise well in to the night. All of these party goers also affected parking. Where we were able to find a spot right next to the hotel's back entrance the rest of the week on this night we had to park on the opposite side a lot further from our entrance. All of that said... I think the Menage has a bit of an identity crisis trying to figure out who to cater to... families going to Disneyland or the young hipsters/business people. I understand they have a business to run and have to make a profit by holding events etc. But it seems like better planning (i.e. parking logistics with someone to direct where people with the event could park, plans to shut down the party at a decent hour to ensure a quiet night's sleep for the rest of the hotel guests). Leo at the front desk did try to make things right by comping our parking. He was very helpful and very friendly and understood our position. Overall the stay was great. Friendly friendly staff, good accommodations, good restaurant and good walking distance to Disneyland. If it weren't for the last night I would rate this stay at a 5. But that night tainted the stay just a bit.

I travel to SoCal monthly for business and try to stay at the Menage as my first choice. It is conveniently located for reaching my accounts in OC and LA, and the staff is fabulous. I especially like the pool bar - Kristen is a remarkable bartender who creates a fun and interactive environment amongst us business people, the Disney tourists, and the locals. I recently brought a business associate to experience Kristen's hospitality, and this associate was able to enjoy that friendly atmosphere first hand (I think you just gained another frequent traveller as a customer). The food is great as well (available at the pool bar or the restaurant), and the service is excellent. The entire staff at the hotel is very helpful. You'll be seeing me again.
Thanks,

Randy - Livermore, CA

Room Tip: stay in a room on the east side - quietest

Very friendly staff and clean consistent rooms. This is an older remodeled hotel and they have done a great job overall to update the ambiance.

Room Tip: On weekend Disney has their fireworks the explosions are hard to sleep through so just plan on going...

This hotel was chosen for us by an acquaintance who works at Disneyland. It is close and convenient to the parks and the staff is very pleasant and efficient. We called down to guest services for some additional towels and they arrived within 5 minutes of our call! Dealing with the front desk personnel during check in and check out was really quick and pleasant. We checked in late in the evening and were surprised by the atmosphere in the lobby and lounge area because the lighting was low and it was somewhat of a "club" like feel. We weren't sure what type of hotel our acquaintance had chosen because we were travelling with our children but the rooms were very clean and the decor inside is very nice. So, I guess it is a "boutique" hotel which is very popular right now. It was fine for the children and the entire family. We enjoyed our stay although it was very short. It was a great value.

Room Tip: We did not take advantage of the spa or breakfast as we only stayed one night and needed to get on t...

We stayed here during our disney trip. The staff here is just fabulous! they were really nice, courteous and hospitable. They didn't get annoyed or impatience even once with our requests and impatiences (is that a real word?). The shuttle from here to Disney was real short too. Will definetly stay here again especially if they have the same deal we got.

Room Tip: We stayed in the 2 queen bed room with 2 kids. We werent in the room much but it was still big enoug...

Overall our stay at the Hotel Menage was fantastic. Until the day we were checking out.... The staff are friendly, the pool and bar area is fantastic, and the show of fireworks every evening from disneyland is magnificent! We were a little disappointed to discover that on our last day here, we'd left to go pick up some last minute things before checking out, only to discover that one of the room attendants had used our toilet... I guess when you gotta go, you gotta go. But seriously, they could of cleaned up after themselves... Other than this minor detail, our stay was great, and would recommend to others.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the highway...
