Stayed in a bunk room. It was great for a family of four. Easy walking distance to Disneyland and the complimentary buffet breakfast was a bonus! Loads of restaurants close by for a quick snack or meal.

Room Tip: Bunk rooms were good for a family of 4 as it was nice for the kids to have a rest in their own beds...

I stayed here in March with family after reading the positive reviews online. We were very pleased with our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and even gave us a room upgrade which was a pleasant surprise and worked out better for us overall. One of the housekeepers even went out of her way to direct and help us find our room which was greatly appreciated. The room was very clean and nice - two comfortable queen beds, sunken living room and a nice bathroom with a fan that actually cleared the steam, from the shower, quickly so you could use the mirror right away. There was plenty of drawer and closet space, two T.V.'s, which we didn't use, a microwave and refrigerator. They thought of just about everything you would need for a home away from home. It was about a ten minute walk away from the Disneyland Park entrance. The free breakfast was wonderful and the variety of choices was great. This room was also clean and tidy. To avoid the crowds get there between 6:30AM and 7:00AM and enjoy the sunrise:) I will definitely stay here again and recommend it highly to anyone traveling to the Anaheim area.

Room Tip: We had room 355 and it was away from the pool area and was pretty quiet.

I have stayed here several times and will continue to do so. The staff is fantastic, as is the proximity to the convention center & Disney Parks. LoVe the free parking, internet, and daily breakfast buffet. Rooms are always very clean and well kept. I highly recommend staying here if your travels bring you to the area.

We chose this hotel because of the free parking, short walk to Disneyland, free breakfast and rooms that could accommodate our family of 6. We spent very little time at the hotel because we maximized our time at Disneyland. The sofa sleeper that 2 of my kids slept on was horrible. Of course most sofa sleepers are, but this was worse than most. We ended up taking the mattress off the couch and just putting it on the floor. We were so exhausted after spending all day in the park that my kids didn't care that the mattress was on the floor. Our king size bed was extremely comfortable and my 2 other kids who slept in bunk beds had no complaints. The free breakfast was great. The breakfast room gets very crowded in the hour before Disneyland opens, but there is lots to eat and the food is always quickly restocked. Oatmeal, waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pastries, donuts and cereal were options every morning. This hotel worked well for our family and we would stay here again.

Average. Pool small. Lots and Lots of foam in the hot tub. Not great for little ones. Booked over two months ago, recd a room with the view of a wall and across from a pop machine, we then got missed by the maid. Won't be staying here again.

After a "spur of the moment" trip to Disnelyand in 2006, upon heading back in 2008, we thought we'd have to shuffle between hotels until we lucked out at ended up selecting the Desert Palms Resort. We were so pleased with that first stay that we've stayed there every time we've returned to Disneyland since then, which sometimes has included several trips per year.

During out various stays, we've received room upgrades, and have as a result experienced almost every room offering they have.

On our 2008 trip, we brought along a lot of family and hence had a big group. The Kalahari suite was absolutely perfect for our needs. This was the only time we've booked this kind of room.

We've twice been upgraded to a Borrego Suite, which the kids absolutely love sunken living room with the full sized sleeper sofa, and is actually probably the ideal configuration for my normal family. They act like they their own room once the curtain closes.

One time we were upgraded to the Sahara Combo Suite with the Kitchenette, which we didn't take full advantage of by going out for meals instead of staying in, but the extra space made us especially comfortable.

All of the rooms have been very clean. I know, I've checked! Each room has included a working microwave, fridge, coffee maker(which we don't use, we don't drink coffee) and a full sized ironing board with iron. The fridge and microwave have been very useful for food we've gotten during our trip, as well as for dealing with baby supplies(when needed). My wife irons the clothes before we go out, so having a full sized ironing board is much more convenient than those table-top ones.

The hotel includes a complimentary breakfast. We have found this saves us a lot of time over going out to eat, and a lot of money over getting a lower-priced hotel and having to eat somewhere else. Make your own fresh waffles if you would like! Depending on what else is going on, there may be an over-flow room, or you can eat outside on the deck.

The hotel resides in the south east corner of the blocks that Disineyland/California Adventure is on. The walk to the park is anywhere from 10-15 minutes depending on how fast we choose to walk and how long we get stick at the crosswalk halfway on our walks. I find this walk to be the perfect distance: Not too long, not too short, just about right. It's long enough to build our excitement for the day, and a decent enough walk to wind down from a day of fun and thrills.

One time at Disneyland, we got caught at the park a downpour, and so after buying Disney ponchos to try to keep dry on our walk back to the hotel. We had to use the laundry facilities on our floor, mainly the dryers to dry our our shoes! However, with two washers and dryers per floor, you could cut your clothes load and spend an evening running a load or two.

The hotel is also not far from an area known as "Little Saigon", which is just a short drive away. The hotel also has convenient access to the main street of Harbor Blvd and Katella, so you have easy freeway access and shopping/food/retail in every direction.

Each floor has vending with an ice machine. We've used the ice machine many trips.

Housekeeping has been enjoyable, We will often enter our room for the first time with a towel folded up as an animal. It's been different most times, so it's always a new experience. With the kids, they all have their plush animals with them, we will often find them arranged in a cute group on one of the beds, and the kids' blankets and pillows neatly stacked in a corner, ready for the evening when it's time for them to go to bed.

The front desk has been prompt and responsive. Twice I've had bad room keys, which were immediately swapped out. On our latest trip, we arrived super early before check-in, and were given a parking permit so we could go enjoy the parks, allowing us to check in later. Upon check-in, we discovered we were upgraded to to a Borrego Suite.

Depending which room we stay, we have a view of the park. We always have a good view of the park on the way to and from the breakfast room.

While there is a pool, spa and gym, we've never chosen to use those facilities. I will say that most of the time we stay, we do notice people using them and having a good time.

For those flying in, there's an Alamo rental car place next to the parking lot. My wife and I are debating a quick weekend Disneyland get-away, and this might be a convenient method of getting a car conveniently.

The last trip we took, something was going on in the area, probably tied to the Anaheim Convention Center(across the street south of Disneyland). Parking was a big cramped and sometimes it was tough to find a parking spot, but we managed. Having parking permits helps prevent people from using the hotel's parking lot as a free parking spot.

We've stayed at the hotel even during periods of replacing carpet, doing some painting and other minor maintenance issues and it hasn't impacted our enjoyment. One time the hot water boiler went out and we had no hot water for 2 days. Management gave us a 10% discount on our next stay to make up for the brisk wake-up shower service!

With one trip in 2014 already complete, we're looking at 2 or 3 more trips in 2014. We're looking forward to future stays. One trip may include another large family gathering as well.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 4th floor may have a good views of the park. 1st floor rooms do not have to use stairs...

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was updated/modern, a perfect setup for a family of 4, with the little stepdown sitting/eating room area with the black out curtains separate from the sleeping area! When the kids were exhausted and headed to bed, we could still feel like we could stay up without bothering them with lights, etc. Beds were fairly comfortable though not the "pillow top" variety many hotels at this price range now have. Lots of linens...nice to not have to ask for extra for a change!

The front desk was helpful. We checked out lots of hotels with similar ratings and cost, however this was one of the few that included breakfast and parking...the included breakfast had one of the best varieties we've seen in the Anaheim area, and boy were the staff ever kept busy re-filling the various items, which they did often and in a timely way! We also were really appreciative of the included parking.

The location was great --- for sporting events (we went to a Ducks game and checked out the Angels' stadium area) and perfect walking distance to all things Disney. We would be very happy to stay there again when we next return to the Anaheim area.
