“Fantastic location, affordable price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 January 2014

The main reason for our visit to Anaheim was Disneyland, so there was no need for fancy, expensive hotels - we just needed a place to sleep and shower. Our room was a standard one with 2 double beds, microwave, coffee maker, fridge etc and was spacious enough for the two of us.

The decor though is a bit outdated and the bathroom floor, even though it might be clean, the scratches made it look like it was never cleaned. The shampoo was not as good, so I was glad I had spares from my stays at other hotels.
The air con didn't seem to work as well either, but it was fine as during our stay it was cloudy, cool days.
The lobby was very spacious with an attached restaurant. There was no complimentary WI-FI. If you required it, it was USD$9.95/day. It was a bit of a shock really, that there was no complimentary WI-FI. It was the 2nd hotel I stayed at in California that didn't have it.

We arrived here by bus from Beverly Hills early in the morning, so staff were more than happy to store our luggage in the store room while we spent the whole day at the 'happiest place on Earth'.
There was one particular staff member who was super friendly - I forgot his name, but he was of Filipino descent and was very happy to strike up a conversation.

Overall, this hotel is fantastic for its location and super affordable price.

Note: the black dots on the photos are from my faulty camera lens.

My wife and I have now stayed twice at this hotel for our Disneyland weekend trips. It's perfectly located: less than a block away from the Disneyland/California Adventure/Downtown Disney -- and all for a great price! If you are looking to visit the parks and need a no-fuss room to simply sleep in, shower and just rest from 14hrs/day of walking the parks then this hotel is for you!

This hotel is no five star resort, by any means! The rooms are dated and just a bit on the dingy side (I would NEVER walk barefoot in the room), but the customer service is amazing! We arrived early, and went to the front desk to ask if we could just park our car there and head over to Disneyland. The girl at the front desk made sure that we were able to park there AND check in at 9am! The parking is no longer free, as it was when we've stayed in the past. It was only $4 though, and in comparison to the Anabella ($15 per day), it was a bargain! Back to the subject of the room... It wasn't the cleanest. We were in the 600 block, and it was pretty noisy. The bed is hard but I prefer harder beds, so I didn't mind that too much. The heating & air conditioning system is one of those wall unit ones, so the room didn't get too hot or too cold. Again, not an issue for us, but I could see how people could suffer from the heat in the summer. We always enjoy our stays at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel, and will continue to stay there for our future visits to Disneyland.

Pros: Laundry area, "arcade", Olympic sized swimming pool, great customer service, $4 parking, RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from Disneyland (if you have little ones, it's kind of a big deal), you can see Disney's fireworks show from the hotel/pool area at night, and the prices are very reasonable.

Cons: The rooms are kind of dirty and outdated, heating and air conditioning wall unit didn't work very well, no in room safe.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms typically have their own lanai. Go to the pool at night if you want to see the fi...

The hotel is an older model but in great shape. The front desk and lounge area are smartly decorated and comfortable. Everything was very clean and orderly. The room (2 queens) was surprisingly large with a great, big bathroom area with two sinks that were separate from the toilet and shower (which was great for me and my sister and our morning prep). The beds were very comfortable with great blankets. The walls are very thin, which is the only big downside. It wasn't a huge issue but it had it's moments.

The location is fabulous. It was a 9 minute walk to the park gates. Most of that walk is on Disney property. The entrance to the property is a block up. We could see the fireworks from our room window. That was the main reason we chose this location for our last minute trip.

The additional surprising plus was the hotel's restaurant. We normally avoid hotel restaurants but we went to breakfast on our last morning and were pleasantly surprised. You can get the breakfast buffet for $10 and they have a fabulous variety of great foods (including great biscuits and gravy, a personal favorite).

My dad used the hot tub to relax from the day at the park and he said it was great. There's a great big pool, but it was too cold for us to go in. There's no free wi-fi which is a HUGE bummer since there's none at the parks either. If there was free wi-fi, I'd be inclined to pick this hotel every time I visit Disneyland.

Overall, it was a good experience. Much better than we expected based on other reviews.

Room Tip: We were in the 700 block of rooms which are right on Disney Way which makes the walking distance to...

The Anaheim Plaza Hotel and Suites is a great location to Disneyland California. From our room, you could see the Tower of Terror and hear the screams. Disneyland is directly across the street. Lots of restuarants within walking distance. The restuarant at the hotel had a good variety for breakfast with great service. I would recommend this hotel to families. They have a great pool and hot tub as well. Would definatly return to this hotel.

This is my 4th or 5th time staying at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel & Suites. It meets my needs of inexpensive hotel, close to Disney, Free parking. This trip was a mix of good and awful.
The room: We were in the 400 block, upstairs. It was a trek but worth it. Room was large, bathroom area has a huge counter (helpful with 3 people getting ready), it was clean and had a fridge.
Beds: a little harder than I'd like, but I got a good night sleep. More pillows were brought as we requested.
Bathroom: Clean but worn, fresh towels but the second day the housekeeping service walked in the bathroom when the floor was wet leaving dirty footprints and a filthy towel.
Room size was adequate for the two double beds (wish they were queen size!). We had 3 people in the room and it didn't feel cramped.
Room Service: here is where it got BAD. We ordered an American Breakfast and two breakfast burritos. NO where on the room service menu did it say the burritos had beans in them. No where! My fiance is highly allergic to brown beans and always checks the menu before he orders. If my son hadn't mentioned he found beans in HIS burrito, we would have ended up in the hospital. When we called the kitchen to complain, they argued with my fiance and hung up on him! We were in shock! We took the offending meal downstairs to the front desk, they DID comp the whole meal and gave him benedryl (he normally doesn't carry it because he always checks the menu first) and that was appreciated. They told us they were getting that fixed on the room service menu and I hope to God they did. We felt we were treated poorly in a very sensitive situation. I will re-think staying at this hotel again. This was a horrible end to what was a fabulous stay because we were engaged Saturday morning in our room.

Room Tip: Ask for a deluxe room if you want a little bigger room.
